Tau Allies

Recently traded in a huge load of old GW models for some new stuff and picked up a small Tau force to use as allies. This is my first test model to see how they look. I wanted to go for the Star Wars Stormtrooper sort of look and I'm reasonably happy with how it came out, although white is an absolute bar steward to paint and I'm dreading doing a load of them! Fortunately it's just an allied force.

Yes! Glorious Stormtrooper Tau were my colour scheme of choice when I picked up Tau as my first army. They just look so damn good! Of course, little did the painting newbie me know about how difficult it was to paint... oh the thick layers of white everywhere.

Recently painted that model myself, it is a blast to paint, and you've done a very good job. Can't wait to see more graduates of Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy (well they ARE BS3...)!

very good job on the white. I would love to see it on an entire army (although as you said, it is a hard color to pull off)

i enjoy the model, the base is by far my favorite, as i like the detail on the overall piece and model

Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise. Except when firing at anything important. Or moving. Or outside a barn.

Those guys look very cool, nice and clean! Great job.

Have to say, the Fire Warriors are probably the worst plastic models I've had from GW in the modern era (ie. beyond the early 'test' models). Every single one of them had pretty nasty mould lines and areas of poor definition. I hear from many other Tau players that they've had similar problems. The mould must have something wrong with it.
