I am graduating this weekend and I thinking about finally reaching that 2000 points level. The usual armies that I play against is alot of chaos marines and dark angels, a few necrons,tyranids,marines,and demons. So I am mostly against MEQ with the occasional horde army. So i wanted to make a list that is some what competive for the group im up against. So this is the list that I came up with:


The parts that I don't own yet are 1 of the raiders, 2 of the venoms, and the two ravagers.

HQ
Archon w/ agoniser,djinn blade,drugs, phantasm, ghostplate, haywire, and shadowfield

Troops
2x 10 man raider warriors w/ splinter cannon
the raider has flickerfields,nightshields,and splinter racks
2x 5 man warriors w/blaster in a venom w/ dual cannons,nightshields

10 man wych squad w/ full grenades and hetrix w/ agoniser and phantasm
raider w/ flicker,nightshield, torment grenades launchers,trophies, and sails
9 man wych squad w/full grenades and hekatrix w/ agoniser and phantasm
raider w/ flicker,nightshield, torment grenades launchers,trophies, and sails

Fast attack
9 man reavers w/ 3 claptrops and 3 heatlances

Heavy support
2x ravagers w/ nightshields and flicker

razorwing w/ splinter cannon, nightshields and flicker

total= 1995

I have everything but one of the raiders, both ravagers, and the two venoms. I bring the trophies due to they allow me to reroll my leadership which is good if im up against crons and their mindshackles plus their good against fear tests. The torment grenade launchers help me against all the marines and their high leadership values.I am looking to make this a pretty much all comers list so pleasae tell me if their is anything I could have better in it.

Hello there! Some advice.
You have far to many points invested in upgrades that wont help you much.
You don't ever really need sails since our transports are fast enough as is. Another thing is that although agonisers are nice venom blades are much much cheaper and almost as good, better against horde and teq and slightly worst against meq.
It won't kill you to keep the Razorwing since you have a good number of lances in four raiders and 2 ravagers but drop the cannon and the night shields. In all reality you will be lucky to get off all of your missles and shoot a couple of times with the lances on it.
You have an Archon with a PGL but he will be going with a squad of wyches that already have one so you can drop that and save 20 points and with a SF there isn't much need for ghostplate. Venom blade + huskblade are generally better than Agoniser and dijnn blade since they allows you to wound high toughness and threaten 2+ ( HB+VB costs the same as A+DB too)
While the idea of raider gunboats is fun, the reality is in sixth edition our paper planes are paper coffins. We don't want to be chilling in them as close to the enemy as you gunboat requires. a better option is to dump the warriors onto an objective in cover and let them shoot at things with their cannons then use the raider for AT so you can drop the splinter racks if you don't gunboat them.
On the reavers Drop the CC (Mushkilla is the master at reavers and he suggests leaving the CC at home. I'm just forwarding the advice of the master on this one) and get a Arena Champion. That is one expensive unit that you don't want running off the board.
Some people will say to cut the flicker fields in sixth edition but they can be useful particularly against tau.
Cut all of those things I mentioned and you should have enough for some trueborn in a venom like bklooste suggested.

I agree with Bibity. To many upgrades, although I see your point on taking them.

I'd keep the razor. Deep striking it behind a helldrake is priceless.

Flickerfields only really serve a purpose for the aforementioned Helldrake. So usefulness depends on how many of the anoying things your meta has.

With your Archon, dont you like the blaster? OK we drop 1 cc attack, but that 1 cc attack will need a 3 to hit 4 to wound with the agoniser. Thats a 0.335% chance to kill a MEQ. But the blaster, needs 2 to hit, re-roll to hit 6, then a 2+ to kill a meq or put a teq onto his invun... ohh and most IC will suffer ID.

Some more mathhammer. Units of 10 wyches die horribly when a raider goes boom, and you know the ememy will target it early. If they do survive, then including throwing a grenade 10 wyches should hit a vehicle 7.4 times and 6 glances/pens. Its overkill. 5 Wyches will hit 4 times (3.4 glances/pens). 5 wyches in venoms cost less so you dont cry when they go splat, plus arn't as much a Priority target as 10 in the easy to see raider.

Another sad thing with wyches is they tarpit rather than kill stuff. So the Hekatrix, and Agoniser and phantasm is like a 50point upgrade? 2 of them make 100 points! thats alot of waste points.
In MHO in 6th, wyches have 1 roll. Just a bare bones vehicle killer. DE dont multi task well, as we are too fragile. Wyches epitomise being fragile and awesome at 1 thing - vehicle killers.

Just my 2pennies. Don't mean to condemn your list but you seem to have alot of waste points. I play weekly at a local game club and the people who loose often are those with an army full of situational upgrades, rather than more units.

GW FAQed Deepstrike out of all flyers.

I am not a fan of all the upgrades. The Djinn Blade and ghostplate arent needed. Also he does not need the Phantasm Grenade Launcher due to being in the wyches squad who already has one (and cheaper too) and having plasma grenades base.

Your troops are fine, but I find torment grenade launchers, grisly trophies, and aethersails are situational. With the points saved on the archon and these, you can easily get enough for another troop choice.

Reavers with both caltrops and heat lances are confused about what they are going to do. You want to bladevane with the caltrops because they are so expensive, but when you do you arent using the points you spent on the heat lances. When your blowing up tanks with the heat lances, the pricey caltrops are wasted. Pick one roll or another with them. Also I would get a champ to protect the unit with his Ld 9, and a cheap venom blade just in case you have to be agressive and get into combat to protect them (aka the Mushkilla tactic)

Other than that I think you are on the right track. The list is decently built overall, just needs some minor adjustments.
