The Monthly Vow, June - yes, it's almost summer

Yes folks, our cousins have arrived with their new shiny this month, but they forgot to bring the VR with them.  Useless sods, no wonder we left them in deep space.  In spite of that little mental slip on their part, we still decided to have another Archon's Painting Challenge and dedicate it to them - you are all going to sign up for that, aren't you?

Whether you do, or whether you have some other painting you want to get done, sign yourselves up here and make a vow about what you are going to build/paint/convert during the month of June.  Show us your progress with a picture, but don't sweat it, unlike the real Commorragh, we do operate on the honour system.  Pics are still nice though.

Well, my 2 Reaper conversions are very close to done, so I will finish them off and get them painted this month. And I will convert a Wraithseer and paint it for Stage 5 of the Archon's Challenge painting contest.

Paint 20 Wyches!

Put me down for a Sliscus stand-in, 10 wyches, and 3 Commissars

Finish painting my harlequin wych squad and then paint up a raider for them.

A Cronos Parasite Engine for me, to accompany the Talos I did last month. Then I'm converting and painting my Grotesques, inspired by Eye of Error's beautiful work on Ogre Warspears. Probably some (5) more Wracks if I get time.

Paint 1 war walker for the Archon's challenge.

Magnetise and paint shardcarbine arms and spare heads to allow kabalite warriors to be switched for use as trueborn in my synergy list.

Win at least one game with the synergy list so that I can start whittling it down for Throne of Skulls.

Finish converting Sliscus.

Off to a 1250 point tournament on July 1st so I'm gonna need to paint the following:
2 Kabalite warriors
6 Reavers
And finish painting:
A Venom
2 Ravagers (from last months vow)
2 Raiders

Cronos is finished. I decided that the Spirit Vortex hanging out of it's bottom was not good so I added a spare Talos tail and attached the vortex to the end of it.

I HAVE 2.5 MONTHS OFF! :twisted(and I'm too broke to take an actual vacation )

For June I would like to get back into form by finishing a few things that have haunted my painting desk.

-For the Archon's Challenge: Finish a unit of 6 Jetbikers that have been half-done for a while now
-A shiny new Spiritseer
-Assemble(finally) my Riptide. I can't buy another overpriced giant robot(Wraithknight) until I finish the Riptide.
-Paint an IG Banebalde company (Don't get excited, it's for Epic Armageddon)

WIP on my Grotesques, inspired by our very own Eye of Error's superb work. Just wish my Green Stuff skills were up to his standard!

Just have to highlight the 3,000,000 gems and get the runes for the robe sorted out. I also bought a Crimson Hunter and additional Vyper for my 1500 CWE list. Should completely throw everything for the vow into total failure

Grots are finished. Just about managed the last one last night. Now just need to take some pics and get them up here. Wracks didn't really get off the ground. Managed to assemble and prime them and that's about it. Spent way too much time on the Grots!

Sprayed gloss on the Epic IG Baneblade company this morning:

The command tank was converted to have a commissar. (If you play Epic you know how important macro weapon attacks are for assaults) And yes, I had to explain why I was laughing while I painted it. I showed her this pic:

I was a bit sidetracked this month and had mixed results with getting my vow completed. I completed the Spiritseer and Baneblade company, failed to complete the jetbikes or assemble the Riptide. I did manage to get the following done in addition to (or rather than) my vow:
-Started paint on 3 Eldar rangers
-Painted an Epic 40k Shadowsword tank
-Started paint on 2 Epic 40k Thunderbolts
-Started paint on an Eldar Farseer
-Painted the pilot for an Eldar Crimson Hunter and started assembly for paint this month.

Actually finished my vow for June, I finally polished off the two additional Reapers at some ungodly hour last night, having lost all motivation for them by mid-month when I hadn't even finished constructing them. Not completely happy with a couple of aspects, but I can fix them in the near future and for now they are fine.

Pics will follow, but not for 2-3 days as I am taking some time off.
