| Good job on the feathers, subtle but noticeable lightning and shades. If you want to make the scourges to pop more, you'll have to go crazy on highlighting. Currently it is hard to pick out the details on the armor and legs.
For highlights, you could try and mix in some light grey color or even white with the color you wish to highlight over. For purple, I usually go admin.grey + xeraxus purple.
I'm watching you! | |

| Thanks for the tips. A mate suggested pink as the highlight colour, which I used on the incubus and that worked better. Will have a look at greys as well. Hadn't considered those. I used the new pink drybrush colour (something lilac). On the scourges it was daemonette hide for the highlight. bit too subtle. | |

| Well, once I got started on the new incubi I couldn't stop. Seems this painting style suits me pretty well. Minimal effort but lots of highlights so it takes some time. I used the nuln oil wash over the purple then hit the edges with lucius lilac. Yes its a dry brush paint but with a little water it softens enough to make it spread. I also tried to do a blood splatter effect on the blades. may not be particularly realistic but I like it, got some on one of their faces which was a little disturbing. anyway, here they are. Archon and Klaivex (archon not done by me, another gift, handy having relatives that can paint) Archon and Klaivex side and rear More incubi and some more and the gangs all here The camera is still playing up. seems the auto focus function on the DSLR is not working and not measuring the light correctly. Any tips would be great. As an aside, my need to paint list is down to: 5 Kabalites 8 Hellions 3 Reavers 1 Talos (new boy on the scene) 1 Raider it is my aim to have these done before I move house in January. Will it happen? No idea actually but hey. Once that is done I will take an Army shot. As always, tips, hints and criticisms welcome. | |

| So, having moved a third of the way across the country its about time I got back into this. Nothing new to post as I am working on two slow grow projects (WoC fantasy and an Infinity army, can post these if anyone is interested in the other logs) but I have ended up with a heap of new stuff lately. So, after getting one Talos and loving playing them, I bought another, more warriors and wyches, more reavers (15 now?! am I crazy) another Raider, more Incubi and an Archon.
The Archon I will try to convert up to Vect perhaps, or strip my Duke model of his twin venom blades and make a new Duke. Think this puts me at about 3500 points which I think is almost enough. Need mandrakes and harlequins to have one of everything. I think. Anyway, once I get some more time I will be back. Thanks for all the support from various posters. Its appreciated and motivating | |

| Just getting into infinity myself so would be interested in seeing your stuff. What faction are you playing? I started out with Yu Jing japanese sectorial but have found the close combat focus does not work so well in such a shooty game. How are you finding learning the rules? It is certainly a difficult game to learn and I am still struggling to get all the rules to sink in. | |

| Sure I can post some stuff. Will get some photos on the weekend. I have yu jing and combined. Tbh, prefer combined, much more forgiving as cc is at least possible, even if aro does spoil it fairly regularly. Smoke is your friend in that respect. I fi d the rules ok, its keeping the mission in mind that I struggle with. I usually lose due to battle rage and wanting to kill everything in sight. Great game tho as far as cinematic stuff goes. | |
