Oops, I did it again - July WD, 40K Apocalypse pre-orders now online

The new Eldar have barely gotten their feet dry on the beachead, and already some pics from the July WD have been leaked elsewhere.  While this is very exciting indeed, it does also mean that we will now have an entire month of endless drivel being posted on the topic (not here on TDC, of course    ).

Khorne, for example, will be getting a new Segway/walker-thingy that already has pundits gnashing their teeth.

Necrons will be getting a new monolith, new shape and features, and it can open up into 4 segments.  Doesn't look terribly stable on its flyer base, but looks terrific otherwise.  However, I imagine that people who just shelled out for the latest IA 12, Fall of Orpheus will be hopping mad that it wasn't included.

That Khornate Lord of Battle looks absolutely stupid, overdesigned and over the top. I love it! It's about damn time GW starts to once again embrace the inherent silliness in the setting by giving a new spin on old models and making them absolutely ridiculous. I like to see the cheesy side of 40k every once and again, but I guess too many people only know its grimly serious side and don't really understand what is going on.

The Necron flying thingy looks pretty interesting, though somewhat dodgy on that flying stand. Anyway, it's about time Apocalypse gets a re-release - currently it is ridiculously hard to play with some armies like Necrons, to whom many assets simply do not work due to them referring to the old and now non-existant rules, like the reroll to Will Be Back.

The Khornate models is definitely a homage to the old space marine (epic) Khorne daemon engines; Lord of Battle and Death Dealer. I had a crazy flashback as soon as I saw the photo of the WD cover.

really I think the only problem with the Lord of Battle is there is just too many skulls. I swore it was diamonds on him. I think a decent paint job will make it look awesome.

The Cron things are interesting as well... Especially the orb inside the Mono thing. I heard somewhere they are Epic things as well... Im really interested in their fluff.

Also *grain of salt sprinkled* our bomber is suppose to be in the release as well... but again, they have dangled that carrot infront of us for far too long. Ill believe it when I see it.

I don't think we can judge the Lord of Battle yet but we've all seen that the latest Chaos releases have been harking back to the old days of CHAOS METAL WOO from the 80s.

The more I look at the Megaliths the more I think they're absolutely stunning - could the one on the left be a C'tan tesseract prison?

OK, so the pre-orders are now online, can't actually find where it says the actual release date on their web site, too funny.

One poster on Dakka said that both the Wall of Martyrs Vengeance Weapons Platforms and the Firestorm Redoubt have 40k rules, but I have yet to see that confirmed.

I love me some Chaos, especially Khorne, but that is one hideous model.

I think the Lord of Skulls is totally rad! Albeit, ridiculous and funny, but awesome at the same time. I wish you could take the finished model and pull it backward and let it go and it would race forward waving its arms up and down like toys of old. If I gather right it spews blood and fires skulls?! That is just awesome.
To all you Khorne players out there; Get one! Use it every game!(Apoc that is) I know I would.
Felling like a kid again.
