My kabal needs a name (among other things) and I'm looking for input.

Having recently restarted Dark Eldar and really liking them, I'm giving this army full precedence over the other 40k armies I have right now in terms of paint and modeling.

That being said I'm suck at a crossroads as to what I want to do with the army in general. Birds seem to be a recurring theme as I really like the scourge models, and their helmets are great everything on that model works for it because all the pieces of it are good, as such I'm currently working to turn the 5 I have into special characters for the army spreading the beaked helmets out among the units. I like Raider gunships and trueborn venoms the most and with only 9 wracks in the list this is defiantly a kabal.
It obviously doesn't have to be a bird theme, but considering how much I like the scourge heads and one archon is already getting the nickname "archangel" I feel it would be easy to run with, though if I like a name enough sometimes I can look past the conversions as simply looking cool.

Which leads me to my next point on the agenda, colors. I had originally thought of doing this army in a crisp glossy white for the armor, but as time as gone on I've though of doing it in several different ranging from bright scarlet to a glowing burnt orange to a turquoise. I just want to avoid pink, purple, green and yellow as I've been painting those colors so much I just need a break from it.

Final question, can anyone link me a good female child model which would require minimal converting to look dark eldarish? I want to have her holding my other archon's hand like it's bring your daughter to work day.

This generator might get you some ideas or provide you with a name. If you want something bird/avian in the name, you could always swap one of the words in the name you find fitting. I did that

I feel like birds go brownish colors or white, so either of them would work well imo. I'ld have probably gone all black and little grey(which is boring to do...) but that's because I'ld like them to have the colors of ravens and/or crows. But light turqouise highlight over black armour is always cool!

... is the first ones I think of. Not exactly easy to make them eldarish, so I'ld recommend going through coolminisornot's catalouge. I remember seeing lots of children there.

Bleeding Gale sounds the best to me. I think there was an "Ebon Caress" already somewhere, but cant remember.

What special characters are you turning your scourges into? A winged archon would look great, and I believe Sliscus would also look great with a little scourge-like look!
If you want a bird-themed army, DE should always have a lot of skimmers!

I'm turning one of them into my archon, who looks like he's descending (his helmet hasn't shown up yet so I haven't really taken a picture of the model yet. I'm turning one of the batwinged females into a haemonculi once my vestigial talos arms show up. I plan to cut the arms and the balls at the end of the talos arms so they fit into one another giving her the look of six arms. (two on the bat wings, 2 from the talos, 2 regular) Not really sure what I should do with the other 3 though. I have two more males with bird wings and 1 female with bat wings.

in regards to the skimmers comment my army sports 3 raiders, 5 venoms, and three ravagers. Though I am tempted to add a 4th raider at the expense of one of the venoms.

I'll probably be posting pics either as soon as the bits I ordered show up or by wednesday after my conversions go up on my blog.

I'm not sure about 'Bleeding Gale'. How about something more like 'Kabal of the Gouging Claw' or 'Kabal of the Gory Talon'? That's only my opinion though, and everyone knows that my opinions are worthless, so by all means feel free to ignore me.

I agree with you, Arya would be best.

If not, you could easily file away and make the gnomes/dwarve models thinner.

But that would be alittle waste of the model...

that arya mini is perfect, all I'd need to do is clip out the sword and re-position one arm.

As for a different name, I'm actually considering Kabal of the ____ Phoenix, I think it would fit in the bird theme allowing for feathers to be bright red to glowing oranges and yellows, and would allow me to put fire on the armor of those models I believe deserved it (like one of my trueborn who survived 2 games after her venom went down in turn 2 and still managed to do some damage)

I'd be less keen on using the Phoenix myself as it has noble overtones. If you like the idea of using red, how about:

All three of those aren't bad, Scarlet shrike really sticks out to me.

I have chosen the Scarlet shrikes as my kabal's name.

So now for another question. What would the lot of you recommend as replacements for the razorwing flock? I love the models, but I don't love the price tag, much like the wracks.

I know you've already chosen your name, but maybe for some inspiration you should read the first dark elder novel, Path of the Renegade (I believe). There's a kabal with an archon who is absolutely OBSESSED with all things avian. He's said to have the best crafted scourges, and who's haemonculus sole purpose (if stated by the archon) was to push the envelope of what scourges can do. Can't think of the name off the top of my head, but if you're interested I can find it for you. A tad spoiler, but he pretty much sacrifices half his kabal just to catch some fancy bird things.
