| Trying this list out tonight for the first time, think I'm playing a highly meched Imp guard army. Havent ever used my DE yet so they will see battle for the first time.
1850 list #1
Duke Baron
20x warriors 1 dark lance, 1 s cannon, sybarite
10x warriors s cannon, syb raider dark lance
10x warriors s cannon, syb raider dark lance
10x warriors s cannon, syb raider dark lance
4x trueborn haywire nades, 2x blaster venom 2x s cannons
4x trueborn haywire nades, 2x blaster venom 2x cannons
4x trueborn haywire nades, 2 s cannons venom 2x cannons
3x Ravagers 3x dark lances each aegis def line with quad gun
duke and baron go with 20x squad behind wall to get 3+ cover, duke mans the gun, 3+ poison for all of them. blaster born hunt heavy armor and the 1 venom stays stationary to pump out 24 shots at infantry from 36" away. 3 10x warriors squads secure objs if any and hopefully pop something with dark lances on the raiders.

same thing cept:
**drop syb on 20x squad and upgrade to 2 s cannons **add 9x wyches with hekatrix in raider with dis cannon and enhanced aethersails, drop aegis defence line with quad gun **same true born with venom except I drop haywire grenades and make them each 3 man units
This list would not have the wall so they would use cover more wisely for the 20x squad. Wyches would go all out 12 + 2d6 move and then flat out to try and make into CC on turn 2 Would have to roll 4+ jinks out my ass as it will be a huge fire magnet but maybe will draw fire away from my gunny units.
I know most players here dont use the wall but its so good that its hard to resist especially with the stealth added onto it. What do you all think?

| That's a pretty tough list, lots of fire power. but honestly you could run some Eldar Allies w/ a spirit seer. his primary power can give your 20 man unit shroud so if they post up in a building they now have a 2+ cover save and he can make an opponent loose stealth and shroud. put him with a squad of 10 guardians w/ a weapons platform for added Anti infantry or Tanks and you now can make your opponent hate you while your Kabalite blob shoots them to hell while they ignore most damage (exception of ignores cover punks.)
But if not that, your list looks hard for a lot of armies. Tau of course always gives us trouble but you have a good counter with fast moving units and cover all enemy types. | |

| Thanks for the speedy reply. Yeah I really will consider adding Eldar to it after I play for the first time tonight. Was thinking farseer with jetriders (they are better than reavers and are troops in my opinion) for hq and troops and probably a fire prism or maybe warwalker squad for heavy. Havent considered the spirit seer but will look him up right now. | |

| Yea I use a farseer all the time for my guys I put mantle of the laughing god on my farseer and placed her in a blob of 20 so always have the shrouded and hit n run tec. As well as stealth. Yes that is a good idea for the jet bikes. Reavers are only good for the turbo boast. But yea check out the spirit seer. He also makes wraith guard troops thus putting a squad of standard wraith guard in a wave serpent cost 275 but toughness 6 st10 ap2 weapons takes any vehicle down | |

| For the mantle of the laughing god, it says he loses he independent character special rule so does that mean he can still indeed join a squad and confers the shrouded and stealth rule to them? Also for he hit and run and also the squad doesn't re roll armor saves also does it? | |

| It means whatever squad he is joined with at the begining of the game is now his squad he cannot leave it. But what ever squad he is joined too is now has those special rules. Hit and run allows you to get out of an assault and not be run down. | |

This is incorrect. If you don't have the Independent Character special rule, you cannot join a squad - period. Also, you could still be run down if you have Hit and Run. Hit and Run is rolled for after the combat is completely resolved, which includes morale and falling back. | |

| ahhh so basically he is shrouded by themselves? that's a terrible upgrade then unless your character is wanting to be by themselves. and I looked that up you are right they can still be ran down

| Yup, won my game with the first list i ran tonight. First win for my DE in my first game. Had my 20 man blob squad with baron and duke run off table tho after 10 strong psycher squad did the -9 ld bomb and then shot enough to force a check but the ravagers were awesome and took out a bunch of leman russ / chimeras. Asked my group about the mantle thing and they did indeed say he cant join a unit. 1 guy said that it would be decent on an autarch with jetbike as a lone wolf type thing. | |

Aye, that's how I run my allied Autarch. Jetbike, Mantle, Lance and a Meltagun. Prtty much doubles his cost due tot he upgrades, but he's a fantastic 'go it alone' unit. He can easily find targets due to the movement of is jetbike, threatens mech with the melta and with the multiple s6 hit on the charge and can take out suitable infantry target with the same s6 ap3 attacks, before using hit and run to avoid being tarpitted. | |
