Don't forget that at its essence, this thread is pure wishlisting too. I don't see us getting one until our codex is redone, every supplement so far is for a race with a 6th edition codex. Natfka specifically says, though it may not be in the linked post, "no supplement without a 6th ED. codex". Which makes sense, considering the most recent codex trumps anything before it. Wouldn't want a supplement to become obsolete within the same edition of the game.

| Anyone who thinks that it will be 11 years till the next codex is fooling themselves. If there is anything that the supplements show is that GW makes money off of army books. Another thing is that GW has far more competition than they used to and one of the main advantages they have are their HUGE variety of armies to choose from. They aren't going to let a line of recently redone beautiful models molder when they can sell more by printing and selling an overpriced book. The reason it took them 11years to update in the first place was because they were working on recreating and remodeling the line, now that that's done it wont take that long again.
Disengaging rant mode as for supplements, remember that the DE fluff has just recently been redone. Next codex they'll write a little further into the fluff and maybe have lady malyas/ the laughing God, rebel or write in another recently discovered satellite realm.

| I don't think it will take eleven, I would like to think that is a record. I do think it will take 7+ | |

I do think it will take 7+ so in roughly 3 or four years then? I can buy that. Seeing as how they still have to update sisters, BT and maybe BA who need it worst.

| There are a large number of codices ahead of us in the 'queue' even if you ignore that certin codices get updated more frequently (and DE are a xenos codex so it's not them)
Orks Black Templar Space Marines Imperial Guard Space Wolves Tyranids Blood Angels Sisters of Battle
The most 40k codices they've ever released in a year is 4. Normal is about 2.5 So, yes, 3-4 years minimum presuming we get no preferential nor inferior treatment. I would tend to expect some inferior treatment since we are a Xenos codex, so probably some Imperial one would get a bump in there at some stage - so ease it out to 4-5 off that. So, yeah, I like my 7+ guess. All of the above have either older codices than us currently, or are more in need of an update.

| There's already 4 codices released this year, and both C:SM and Orks are rumoured before the end of 2013. That'll make it 5 or even 6. That might just make it 2015 for DE. | |
