| As the title suggests I'm interested in what you guys thinks the best whych weapon overall. To get the ball rolling my favourite are razor flails as they have saved my bacon numerous times with their re rolls | |

| The general consensus appears to be that none of them are that good and you're pretty much always better off spending the points on more Wyches. | |

| I use all three from time to time. I suppose that my go-to is the shardnet/impaler, only because of the high number of dreadnoughts/monstrous creatures and Terminators. Against vanilla SM's I have found the razorflails to be invaluable as well for the re-rolls. I tend to use the hydra gauntlets least, but have absolutely shredded IG infantry and the like.
For my default all-comers lists I tend to use a shardnet/impaler and a razorflail in large units of 10. smaller units of 8(my most common configuration) I tend to take a shardnet/impaler to help with all of the big nasties that I face at the LFGS.

| In a small unit (5 on a venom) the Hydra gauntlet is needed to improve the sheer number of attacks you can dish out.

| After some research, I came to the following conclusion a little while ago: - Plastikente wrote:
- Each of the 3 Wych weapons costs the same as an extra Wych, so the question is always, “why not just have a larger squad?” More bodies means that you can take more damage, adding to your overall survivability. If you’re already maxed on size though, weapons can still give you a bit more bite.
- Razorflails. Give a slightly better damage expectation than just doubling your number of attacks (by adding another Wych), but don’t stand out so much if you roll Painbringer for your combat drug.
- Hydra Gauntlets. A standard Wych gets 2 attacks (when not on the charge or buffed by combat drugs). One with Hydra Gauntlets gets an average of 4.5 attacks, giving a slightly better return than just buying an extra Wych for the same cost. They do bring an extra element of randomness though...
- Shardnet and Impaler. No effect against enemies with 1 attack, and can’t be used to assist characters in challenges, but these are absolutely great for hindering monstrous creatures, or for general tarpitting, especially if used in multiples. The one weapon whose effect can’t be simulated by just adding more Wyches.
I still stand by it: if you want to tarpit, add shardnet/impaler. If you want more killy, add hydra gauntlets. If you want reliable killy, add razorflails. But in the end, you're better off with just more wyches, if you have the space.

| I only use haywires. The rest, well, I'd rather have more units.
My HQs are tooled up to the nines, but no one else

| Razorflail if you want the best damage output, but you run into the problem of redundancy if you roll painbringer
Hydra Gauntlets if you just like rolling dice
Shardnets are bad now due to b2b removal when handling wounds, dont use them
None if you want to be competitive, they arent worth their points.

| Razorflail will help the most, that being said it's kinds like the smartest kid in the special ed class, dont waste the points, use them for HWG's. | |

| Question on haywire. They only get one attack each right? Or do they get all their normal attacks then any wych that hit gets a single haywire??? Debate mid game. I'm pretty sure they get one attack each. At least that's how I read the brb.
I always use hydra gauntlets. We usually need 5's or 6's to wound so I figure the more dice the better chances.

One attack per model in assault, with hits resolved using the Haywire rule. Only 1 grenade per unit if used as a shooting attack.

I love rolling dice - picked the wrong hobby if were any other way! Seriously though, I considered dropping blasters from my 2 warrior squads (making them into simple scoring units) and putting the points into hydra gauntlets (or razorflails) on 3 venom wych squads. Then I came to my senses and ditched the idea:) . They're too expensive; one's useless, one's possibly useless, and none are really worth it.
