| Hello, This is my first post on these forums, and I was looking for a little help with building a decently balanced Dark Eldar list at 1500 to 2000 points with the models I already own. I've had Dark Eldar models for quite a while, so I'm somewhat familiar with basic builds and tactics, but only recently have I begun to buy enough models to make some hopefully playable all-comers armies. So here's what I own:
Archon 6 Trueborn (4 with splinter cannons) 5 Incubi 30 Wyches with 3 agonizers and assorted other special weapons 40 Kabalite Warriors (4 are armed with splinter cannons, 2 with blasters and 2 with shredders) Beast Master Squad with 3 beast masters 10 Khymerae and 3 razorwing flocks 6 Reaver Jetbikes 3 Raiders 2 Venoms 1 Ravager 1 Razorwing Jetfighter
I'm mainly looking for suggestions on what I can do with what I own, not what models I need to buy to improve my army (although such suggestions are also welcome, I just won't act on them for a while as I'm looking to save cash) Thanks!

| Do you face so little mech that you can get away with a list like that?
I suppose my real question is - when you say you have 'mixed success' what appears to be your foible? To my mind you lack ways to deal with mech, but if there is no mech in your area that would be good to know.
Also, regardless of it being over by two points - that is also an illegal list for the Beastmaster setup - it would take at least 4 Beastmasters to field that particular spread of beasts. Since you have only 3 Beastmasters in your entire collection the best you could do would be 10 Dogs and 2 Birds, or 4 Birds and 5 Dogs.

| Definitely a simple way of beefing up the mech busting power of this list would be to swap out the splinter cannons in those trueborn squads for blasters.
I assume that the archon rides with the wyches and the idea is probably to attack the hard spots with them and the incubi while the beasts and other wych squad go strike at another target together?

| @Thor The main problem I end up having is my transports getting blown up before I can get to combat and my close combat troops getting shot up in the wreckage. I'd like to do a little more anti tank, I do end up dealing with some tanks, but I only really like using lance against them because whenever I get in to blaster range I get killed before I can do anything too effective. I'll consider trying some blaster born and I'm also thinking about just buying another ravager. I didn't realize the beasts were illegal, I had misread the codex on how many I could have, thanks!
@holanes I'll try out the blasterborn, I just really enjoy kicking out scads of splinter shots. Perhaps cutting the points for a ravager is going to need to occur, however that might make me low on infantry. But yeah, your assumption about the basic idea of the list is correct.

| I'm not sure what the role of the warriors really is in this list, so another option here would be to drop the trueborn squads and make your two warrior squads 5 man units with splinter cannons in a venom. Basically the warriors take over the role that your trueborn are playing now.
This would allow you to include your reavers in the list (with heat lances!), which would help with tank busting.
