The Monthly Vow, August: the raiding season is apon us!

It's the last month of the summer raiding season. What sadistic models will you be adding this month to your symphony of pain?

Show us your progress with some WIP pictures and some more of the finished product.  We all need to get our plastic-fix.  And don't worry too much, we do operate on the honour system.  But there are specially-trained Wracks standing by though, just so you know ......


Denizens and their vows for the month of August (completed in purple):

Count Adhemar: Commander Farsight (almost finished already but want him 100%), 3 Broadsides,
Some drones (mix of marker and gun drones), Possibly a Devilfish

Trystis:  work on  Talos,  make a Haemonculi.

Herbert West: 10 grotesques, 2 raiders, Urien Rakhart, an incubi, 8 trueborn with blasters, 4 talos, 20 bikes, 3 scourges , a tantalus

If time: 5 Seraphin, Uriah Jacobus, an Immolator, 8 sisters

Shrike423:  venom, two three man true born squads with dual splinter cannons.

Evil Space Elves: Base  Raiders, Ravagers, and Venoms, Repair all of the jacked-up broken bits
Paint for Epic Armageddon:
-3 Manticores, 3 shadowswords, 2 Warhounds

If time:
-Paint 5 Kabalites, Venom

Vasara - paint 9 Reavers

Concentrating on my Tau this month to get a usable allied force ready. So I'm aiming for:

Commander Farsight (almost finished already but want him 100%)
3 Broadsides

Possibly a Devilfish

While playing my beloved army last night I noticed how truly jacked up my models have gotten. There are a lot of broken spiky bits/sails/other nonsense that really needs to be fixed and tidied up. I've also never gotten around to basing my Raiders and Venoms and could really stand to do that while I'm repairing so much.
So for August:
-Base my Raiders, Ravagers, and Venoms
-Repair all of the jacked-up broken bits

Paint for Epic Armageddon:
-3 Manticores
-3 shadowswords
-2 Warhounds

If time:
-Paint 5 Kabalites
-Paint a Venom

Commander Farsight (also to be used as a generic Commander for the time being) done:

I'm going to work on my Talos. After that I may will make a Haemonculi.

Change of plan! Booked up for Throne of Skulls in November so need to start working on the models that are likely to be in my list for that. So I'll finish the Broadside I'm working on now but then the rest of the Tau are on hold and I'm going to work on my Eldar allies, starting with a Wave Serpent and some Dark Reapers.

Broadside done! Only took about 2 weeks!

Those are some nice looking Broadsides! I finished my Haemonculi and am nearly done with my Talos.



I should get the Talos completed this week. It was one of the most enjoyable models I have assembled yet, and looks very intimidating. I kinda want another even though I don't think they are that great when fielded.

Still time: 9 Reavers this month!

I've gone totally off the reservation this month!
Instead, so far I've painted:
-9 Kabalite Warriors
-Haemonculus
-Court of the Archon (Lhaeaman, 2 Sslyth, 3 Urghuls. 2 Madusae are almost done)
-A Venom gunner
-Just finished 4 Wracks

My smartphone that I take my pictures with just went AWOL. It was dying anyways and was going to get replaced soon...I guess soon is now. I'll post a pic of the all the completed models after I pick up a new phone. I plan on hammering out the last two Madusae and calling it for the month. I went off script, but it's more than okay as long as I'm getting closer to finishing this army!

Not the most successful month. I decided that I wanted some of the new Dark Reapers rather than repainting my old (2e) ones but I didn't want Failcast so I had to hunt around on ebay for some of the metal ones. These didn't arrive until the 23rd and have been in a bath of paint stripper ever since. I've built and primed two Wave Serpents though and painted up the loose bits that I haven't yet glued on. The main hulls were awaiting my friend's airbrush for basecoating, which I only got this week so I'm way behind schedule.

Long story short - epic fail for August!

I'll get my pictures up later today.

I never finished their bases though
