| Hey guys,
Here is a list I have been working on, I've made a few tweeks already and I'm looking for feed back. This list is mean to sit back and shoot, and shoot, and shoot some more. The idea is to kill from afar, there is a total of 84 shots at 36" poison (If every thing is still alive). Because of the venoms I'm probably going to give up a lot of kill points and that is the major flaw I see in this list. For scenarios with objectives, I sit back with the 20 man warrior squad with splinter cannons and Haemonculus until turn 3 or so. With the pain token they should be in good shape (I'll sit them in cover too). And then move & fleet (if need be) towards my opponents objective. Have at er:
HQ: Haemonculus - Casket of Flensing; Scissorhand (Attaches to the 20 warriors with splinter cannons)
Elite: 5 Kabalite Trueborn - Splinter Cannon x2 with Venom Splinter Cannons x2
Troops: 20 Kabalite Warriors - Splinter Cannon x2, Sybarite; Agoniser
Troops: 20 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster, Dark Lance x2, Sybarite (Splinter Rifle)
Troops: - 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster with Venom Splinter Cannons x2
Troops: - 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster with Venom Splinter Cannons x2
Troops: - 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster with Venom Splinter Cannons x2
Troops: - 5 Kabalite Warriors, Blaster with Venom Splinter Cannons x2
Heavy Support: Ravager - Dark Lance x3; Flickerfield
Heavy Support: Ravager - Dark Lance x3; Flickerfield
Heavy Support: Ravager - Dark Lance x3; Flickerfield
Good, no good? Looks good on "paper" but I have yet to try it on the field.

| It's not so bad, apart from 4 units (3 are, paper planes, literally) that can provide long range AT. Defenetely NOT scary for BA Razorspam (ie maxed Predators, Baals, rest points filled with Las/Plas and 5+ cover "boubble").
This is extreme example but IMHO good or should I say "ballanced" list should be able to dent both "full mech" and "full horde".
I would try something... different.
Like introducing few Raiders instead of Venoms. First candidate - Trueborn, since they have may shoots already but no AT. I do like Venoms since they ARE killy, but Orks and BA teached me that You want AT on tank and antipersonal on content. I would go with half/half mix within Your troops, arming Raiders boys with Shredders (they are quite good actually).
Also not sure if You want/need Blaster in twin Lance unit. Casket is fun, but nowhere as "solid" as other haemonculus options. Personally I would drop his upgrades and go with Hex Rifle. Maybe some other "one shoot" goodie like CoM. | |

Elite: 5 Kabalite Trueborn - Splinter Cannon x2 with Venom Splinter Cannons x2 only one squad of trueborn? In a vemonspam list I would take 3 squads 4 blasters

The idea is to sit back and shoot. Trueborn cost more than a warrior. The reason I don't have more Trueborn is because I won't be advancing with the venoms. They will sit on my back line and shoot. I put blasters in my warrior squads because they will give me more shots at armor like drop podding dreds, kan wall list, etc. I've been deciding to take the blaster out of the warrior dual lance squad but where would I put the 15 pts? The HQ is the only place I can see but what is good to give him? Corb | |

| Hmm... how about Duke? If you would dump Haemonculus and blaster, then You would have 90 points. Find 60 and You have really cool character that boost mech AND 20 man Warrior squad (BAM, they should devastate anything organic in shooting phase). Alternatively, you could take 2 "naked" Haemi for 100 points. Or guy with Hex Rifle (IMHO much better than Casket, Assault Pinning FTW), CoM (for Psykers) and Venom Blade (2+ wounding kinda ballance for -1 attack) 90. | |

| I actually think the concept is flawed. How far are you going to move in the final 3 turns, 18" + 3D6 and thats out in the open. I target your transports with M/L's or whatever for 2 turns to ensure you are footslogging across the board. As soon as you start to advance the 5 man units get shot to crap and I provide a speed bump for the 20 man warrior squads to prevent them reaching where they want to go. A 10 man tactical squad could easily hold them up for a turn or 2. Mass generalisations ofcourse.
Basically I view speed as one of our greatest assets and by footslogging you do away with it. If your footslogging then I believe you need WWP's. | |
