I can't hear the last minute or so where you're breaking down what happened in the game but I imagined you were lamenting the decision to take Flying Circus against DE
Good game dude, don't know what you could have done differently. That's a hard matchup for your list.

Looks like it was a good game. Good to see the dreadnought talos smash stuff up, I know I say this all the time but it's such an underrated unit.
Flying circus, unless lash of submission heavy has problems against Dark Eldar Mech, because there are lots of AV10 vehicles and S6 vector strike doesn't quite cut it meaning you have to land your DPs to assault the vehicles leaving them vulnerable. The other problem flying circus has against Dark Eldar is poison counters biomancy, which can be a problem if your flying circus depends on biomancy for survival (DE don't care if you're T8 ).
Thanks for sharing the pain.
EDIT: also the chaos player made a mistake, warp charges are generated at the beginning of the turn (BRB page 66). Horrors spawned by the portal glyph are spawned at the end of the movement phase, so have not generated any warp charges, so can't shoot (same goes for horrors spawned in the shooting phase by the warpstorm table).

I'm actually the DE player here! He knew it was gonna be bad, he just crushed everyone else and wanted to see how it would do.
That's good to know about the horrors, would have saved one of my raiders and my ravager. I'll remember that for future games.
I love having the Talos, as it's a good area denial unit and usually absorbs alot of fire and lets my archon/grots get close without having to dodge alot of stuff. I try and keep it by my transports so that it can screen the shooty units and keep the pressure up if my opponent tries to bring some CC monster into them

Another thing I noticed, as soon as you killed the cultists you won the game, as your opponent is tabled at that point since the helldrake is in reserve. Not that it mattered in the end anyways haha.
Good job!

The interesting thing here is that the rule for tabling says at the end of the GAME turn. Game turns after after both players have gone. Since he went second, his helldrake could come in from reserve.
Like you said, it didn't matter, but empty table losses only happen after the bottom of the turn.

Oh gosh, that's not how I interpreted that either. Good catch!
