By loads of peer pressure, Here’s my first ever Battle report  for the Kabal of the Poisoned Truth.  It’s been a few days since the game, so It’s gonna get fuzzy late game.

3 Grotesques w/ Aberration wielding a Venom Blade

2x 7 Wyches w/ Haywire Grenades
Raider w/ Night Shields
2x 5 Wyches w/ Haywire Grenades
2x Talos w/ TL Liquifier
Voidraven Bomber w/ Flickerfields and 2 Implosion Missiles

Slanneshi Prince w/ stuff (dont really know a whip thingy and a 3+)

Deployment: Long Table Edge
Mission: Relic
Night fight: Forgot to roll it, so “No”

He deployed first, all of his power in the center, Slanneshi Prince, Keeper of Secrets, and Khorn Puppies.  Fateweaver and a Tzeench DP on each flank with daemonettes as escort to the puppies. (eww)  

I deployed for a first strike, venoms, and the bulk of my raiders within striking distance (eyeballed the distance) of the Keeper (which had inviso).  I held a squad of wyches to my left side to escort the Grots in whatever chaos shenanigans I could get them into.  The taloi…. I had no idea where I wanted them, so I straddled them to either side of the bulk of my forces.

He Scout moves his dogs forwards in a move to control the center/relic.

T1
I mostly moved forwards to get lines on the Keeper so I can nullify Invisibility power which would control his dogs and slanneshi Prince.  Scoot the Talos forwards, deploy the wracks to go with the talos into the puppies.   Move the left flank up to get distance on the Keeper for lance shots.  

Shooting phase ended with the keeper dying to almost every vehicle, the 2 raiders on the left turboed between fatey and the dogs.

Talos and Wracks assaulted, killing a 1 and a half dogs, and 3 wracks.

B1
Fatey vector struck the wych raider causing … scratched paint. Daemonettes got ready to assault the wracks, Tzeench prince threw the ‘porta-potty’ (it’s green) The Slanneshi Prince whipped the grots and haemonculi out of their raider.

Daemonettes assaulted the Wracks killing all of them and taking them (the daemonettes) out of the assault because they couldn’t consolidate to stay.  Dogs did diddly against the talos.  Slanneshi Prince challenged Abberation accepted… promptly dying.

T2
Bomber comes in lines up with Tzeench prince.  Wyches with haemonculi (with crucible) moves 12 torwards the center and tries to get the boat as equadistant between the FMCs for the crucible to shoot (catches 2, they both pass) the squad shoots the tzeench prince.  The raider with the Dark gate drops off the incubi  (who are heading torwards the daemonettes), and moves torwards and shoots at fateweaver.  The 5 wyches on the ground hide in cover and shoot at fateweaver.  The 7 wyches in a raider (that got vectorstruck) moves closer to fateweaver and snap at him.  The 5 wyches still in the venom line up a shot with the daemonettes, venom shoots the daemonettes killing 2-3 wyches inside snap at fateweaver.  Fateweaver not only takes no wounds, he doesn't fall out of the sky.  Talos moves 6" shoots at the tzeench prince and shoots at him.  The Tzeench prince takes no wounds and passes all flight checks.

Incubi make it to assault, taking no wounds and killing a Daemonette.  Slanneshi Prince Challenges again, denied, proceeds to kill the other two grots, Haemonculi Passes his LD check. (snake eyes baby!) Puppies and the talos derp against eachother again.

B2
2 Squads of Horrors come in from reserve and deploy like so, 5 daemonettes rolled out from the portapotty and moved torwards the relic.  The Tzeench prince and fateweaver switched positions vectorstriking the WWP raider wrecking it aswell. The horrors shot at the wyche raider causing 2 HP and stunning it.  Fateweaver shot at the Voidraven bomber, missing, rerolling with tzeench ability, then failing to pen.

Daemonettes and incubi derped around.  talos and dogs the same.  Slanneshi DP turned my Haemonculi into a smear on the ground. consolidating closer to the circle ruins, but not in it.

T3
Left side Wych raider is stunned.  5 wyches move out of cover priming an assault on the horrors.  Wych venom moves 6" readying a shot at the slanneshi prince, the wyches inside get out get ready to assault the horrors aswell. Crucible Wyches move 12" to the right and back while keeping line on the slanneshi DP.  The WWP Haemonculi moves forwards ~6" readying a liquifier shot on the Potty daemonettes, the Dark Gate Raider does the same, while also keeping the DL able to hit the Slanneshi DP.  The Talos that's out of combat moves forwards 6" to where he's in range of pretty much everything except the horrors on in the back left. The VRB has enough movement to 'just' make it past the Slanneshi DP, Drops a bomb and the DP saves.

To save time, EVERYTHING shot at the slanneshi DP including the 2 groups of 5 wyches that were going to assault the horrors (netted the left group a pain token for the kill Razz) the 2 haemonculi that were goign to liquify the Daemonettes did so killing all of them, the wyches and the haemonculi in the back right corner shot at Fateweaver.  The Voidraven bomber shot 2 implosion missles and 2 voidlances at the group of horrors right in front of it... causing a pink smear on the back edge.

Incubi derp with the daemonettes, talos and dogs do the same.

B3
At this point my opponent realises that he needs his dogs out of the combat if he's gonna try and turn it around.  Sending the tzeench prince to land on the relic priming an assault on the talos.  3 daemonettes come out of the portapotty moving torwards the relic (yes...again).  Fateweaver moves again, vectorstriking a raider doing nothing, then shooting at something, again nothing or not enough. (?)

Tzeench prince murders the Talos, freeing the puppies.  Incubi kill the Daemonettes and consolidate past the portapotty.

T4
From the left... Wyche raider moves 6" deploys the wyches priming an assault on the dogs, squad of 5 wyches moves a bit to get ready to assault the horrors, the other group of 5 primes an assault on the dogs.  The Dark Gate raider gets ready to throw presents to the dogs for thier job well done. The incubi move farther down field prepariring an assault into the dogs.  Talos lines up a shot and an assault on the tzeench prince.  VRBomver flys off the table.

wych raider shoots at Tzeench prince. 5 wyches shoot at the horrors, the other 5 wyches shoot at the dogs.  Talos Shoots it's SCannon and Liquifiers at the tzeench prince, killing all but one Daemonette and doing nothing to the Tzeench prince.

the squad of 7 wyches into the back of the dogs. 5 wyches into the horrors, the other 5 wyches go into the front of the dogs, Incubi Multiassault dogs and the last Daemonette.  Talos assaults the Tzeench DP.  Dogs take a beating they're down to like 5(?), Daemonette dies, lose 'A'wych.  Tzeench prince Murderhobo's the talos. The Horrors are put down to 2.

B4
Tzeench prince readys a charge on a Raider, Fateweaver vector's at the full wych raider.  more Daemonettes from the poopoo chamber, yes, torwards teh relic.

Tzeench prince kills the raider in shooting, assaults the Haemonculi, another smear Sad Dogs take more wounds, lose 2 wyches.

I'm sure you guys can see where this is going. The dogs finally die off on turn 5, the Tzeench DP gets caught in assault with a squad of wyches and dies. Also on turn 5 i was told that the portapotty was a 1hp vehicle and is promptly haywired down.

Opponent concedes on turn 6 after Fateweaver got caught in assault against furious charging wyches.

I think this is a really valuable report because my instinct is to avoid these midfield disasters and try to win on with maneuverability and shooting. Your Coven list was basically able to go toe-to-toe with the most successful assault army in 6th and come out on top. This report makes me wonder if more DE lists could use Arcane Wargear or Talos because you seemed to have handled your opponent well. I myself am a little terrified of Daemons, so this report has given me a lot to think about.

OK peoples, I'm trying to get some images up but i must remind you that things are getting pretty hard to remember. The board is pretty set at the bottom of 2, my opponents got all his cards on the table. (visual wise) I DO forget to bring my jet back on the board after it disengages.

I will be honest, I still don't fully understand why and how i won other than "I seized the initiative and made a 7" charge into the dogs."

I would love some opposing point of view, I asked my opponent about it and he seemed to have wrote it off.

Before you finish up the report it would be nice if you could write up your opponent's list at the beginning too because I'm trying to extract it from what you've written right now.

It's funny that he wrote this game off considering he was chirping pretty much everything you brought to this game, in the DE review of his podcast.

If I'm to be honest, I just don't have enough experience with coven units to make a fair opposition to what you've done. I thought that throwing all those units against the flesh hounds was questionable, but it seems to have worked so it's hard to complain. Maybe you could have tried to get the Dark Gate off in turn 1 where it would do the most damage to the Flesh Hounds and that would have significantly expedited the conclusion of that fight. I'm not sure if you realized how easy it would have been for you to destroy the portal, but you could have saved yourself some grief by getting on it a lot earlier.

I think it's more likely that your opponent made a lot of mistakes though. That could have something to do with him not knowing what you list can do. It could also have something to do with him thinking that what you have is terrible. I'm not sure if the game would go the same way if you had a rematch with the same board and objectives.

heh Fuhr it was my first time using the talosi(?). The reason i didint use the Dark gate early was that i didnt know if i had the range, and didnt want to chance the talos' being any further away.

I also didnt learn that the portal was an AV12 1 HP vehicle till after the dogs had died.

I agree, mistakes were made on both sides during the game and i was lucky enough to be able to recover from them faster.

Over confident daemon general seriously underestimated Talos. On the other hand the Haemonculus didn't mind callously finding out what happens when you charge khorne pups with a Talos. Smile
