| Thought i'd post this here as well as on Warseer, in hops of getting some critique from my fellow Archons/Succubi. I'm hoping to (slowly) built up a Dark Eldar force, which is a) relatively fast to paint, and b) hopefully striking to look at. To accomplish this, im going for a dark, gritty overall look with dark(ish) purple armor, dark grey undersuits, dark metals and brass, and here's the kicker - bright-ish orange details and hair. First up, my test mini, a Kabalite Warrior/Sybarite Wyches galore! (the wyches on the last 2 pictures arent done yet) Raider pics (in varying states of WiP) Helliarch | |

| Purple and orange? Now that is bold.
Looking good, but the orange and purple sections on the skyboards look a bit flat. How do you get that flesh tone? I like it, reminds me of ogres.
Keep it up,
Raucir

| The skin is actually extremely (i say again, EXTREMELY) simple - Dheneb Stone basecoat, Devlan Mud wash - thats it The skyboard has also gotten a bit extra love since that picture - i've added some extra highlights in Golden Yellow around the points, with a Skull White dot on the very end of the points - i might take an updated photo for you guys to see. Anyway, next thing i'll be bringing you guys, is a full Wych squad - though i cant say when i'll be done (if i give a deadline, something ALWAYS comes up ) | |

Devlan! Wonderful. I have much experience with Devlan (my Fantasy army is Skaven), so that should be nice and simple. Looking forward to those wyches! Raucir

| OK, at this point, i am gonna dare saying that the complete wych squad will be up tomorrow, as im only missing the brass basecoat, armor highlights, and washes to get the last 5 done, which shouldnt take much time...
On a side note, could a mod please escort this thread over to the Project Logs forum? for some reason i didnt see it when i posted this one here

| The Dark Muses really dont like me - still havent finished the damn Wyches, thanks to a case of conjunctivitis (eye infection) in my right (primary) eye... stuff like this ALWAYS happen when i put a deadline on my painting Instead, i went and picked up the new Finecast Archon miniature, did a little conversion work on him (adding a banner onto the Phantasm Grenade Launcher, and throwing out the helmeted heads in favor of an unhelmeted one), and basecoated him. Must say, i do NOT like the new Finecast stuff, way to fragile - my Archon had snapped at his left ancle, so i had to fix that as well, plus the fact that it takes ages for superglue to bind the damn pieces together... Hopefully my local store will still have a blister of the old metal Urien when i get around to a Heamy or two... | |

| Hellions are here! The pictures are a bit dark, but you should get the idea: Next up: Finishing the Raider, and start working on 20 Warriors | |

| I'll continue my log here, as i havent been able to get a mod to move it. Anyways, here's my 4 Blasterborn. No conversions, as im short on cash, and dont plan on getting any Reavers for the domed heads. The photo aint great, as its pretty dark today due to some very boring weather, so i had to use the lash, but anyways, here's the shot: Once the weather clears up, i'll give you photos of my homemade terrain that i've been making this last week | |

Thank you sir! In my world, there's no greater compliment than having someone wanting to use your own scheme

| So, 3 months have passed with no updates, and little progress - but thats about to change. Unfortunatly, my trusted old camera for the last 5 years has died on me, so i have only my iPhone to supply photos for you, so apologies for the quality. Anyways, here's a teaser (or 2, if you can spot it ) of what i'm working on atm: | |

| They look amazing dude. Yellow and purple contrast nicely. (heck yellow contrasts with most non-orange or non red things!) Also + reps on the bases and orange wych weapons | |

| Well well well, it certainly has been a long time in the coming, but I am finally back with an update! I'd like to bring you my 3 Venoms, 2 for my 5-man Warrior squads with Blasters, and one for my Blasterborn (they deserve something extra for blowing up 2 Devilfishes and a Hammerhead in a single game, so i made them a different Venom - its the center one in the first shot, and left one in the 2 others): Also, my first Pain token thingie: (The Marine heads are painted after my own sideproject, a Dark Angels successor chapter) I will try to get a good army shot soon, but i havent been able to get good lighting for such a big shot. Any way, next weekend will definitly see me posting my 2x5 Kabalites, and maybe a full squad shot of my Wyches | |

| OK, so maybe not a full Army shot, but i took pictures of all the stuff i have for my army at this point: Kabalite Trueborns with Blasters, and 2 Kabalite Warrior units, all with Venom transports: (Last picture shows my last 5 WiP models - after those are done, i need to get something new to work on xD) Slicey bits (Wyches, Archon, their transport, and my Hellions): Support (AKA, the Razorwing i teased a good while back, but never showed the finished picture of...) Lastly, i have a shot of my 5 lame Wracks conversion, i stopped working on them when i realized i most likely would never field them (Dark Eldar without Fleet? HERESY!) Until next time! | |

| I found very simple and effective recipe for Dark Eldar eye - you just paint them black and set a white dot. Add some mix of grey colors to both colors. White resembles reflected light on the completely black eye.
Look really good and Dark Eldarish.
They are too elvish and not enough Xenos with normal white eyes, remember they live in Commoragh where there is little to none light. THey adapted to that, their eyes look different.
Thats also much easier to do then black dot.

| Well, my birthday graced e with a box of Hellions and the lovely crammed Talos/Cronos kit - so ofc i started building! (Apologies for the blurry pictures - phone cam + dark = blurry crap - but atleast you can see what i made) First up, my Cronos (i know, they usually have the tentacle arms, but i hate them, so i gave mine a cleaver on his left arm) Then, i started building a Haemonculus out of some of the spare parts i had lying around - he's armed with a Liquifier gun (made from a Blast Pistol and Shredder parts): And last, i made my own interpretation of the Baron: Still need to put together the last 4 Hellions, but thats a job for tomorrow, as my brother is begging to have his arse handed to him in a game of Magic or two Oh, and im also going to turn one of these http://privateerpress.com/files/products/circle-orboros/warbeasts/pureblood-warpwolf.png into a Talos with a tail-swap | |
