Help me decide 1250 tourn list

First is a pure de 1250 tourn list. 2nd is de + e list.let me know opinions.

Archon: shadow field, Agoniser, phantasm gl, combat drugs.- 145

Haemonculus-55

3 grotesque, 1 aberration, liquifier, venom blade
Raider, enhanced aethersails.- 230

10 kabalite warriors. Dark lance,
Venom, splinter cannon- 180

5 kabalite warriors
Venom, splinter cannon-110

5 kabalite warriors
Venom, splinter cannon-110

5 wyches, haywire grenades
Venom. Splinter cannon- 125

Ravager, 3 dark lance -105

Archon is the warlord. Both he and the haemonculus are with the grotesques in the raider. The 10 kabalite squad has a designated venom that they won't start in and I can't find rules against doing that. The 10 kabalite will just sit inside aegis guarding an objective.

2nd list

Total 1250

Guardians sit inside aegis and archon follows pain engine around. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. Which list do you guys prefer and why?

I prefer the first list... IMHO if you go for Eldar allies you have a bike farseer or wraith units or it don't worth.

Talking about the first list you can't have a Venom for a 10 man unit... and stay behind an aegis is not a good idea with all that ignoring cover weapons we can see nowadays... I'll take away the aegis and something else to put in a third ravager or a talos.

Can you tell me what page you saw the rule about the dedicated transport not being able to be taken in a squad that can't fit in it? I've been looking for anything stating that for awhile but can't seem to find it. It would help a lot.

I think rules as written there is nothing to stop you buying the venom... but I think it is almost certainly intended that you are not able to buy a dedicated transport that cannot fit the size of your squad in.

In the spirit of fair play I would probably be a bit miffed if someone pulled that in a game. But I suppose it depends on the style of your own group.

Yeah the only reason I want to is someone did it to me and i was a little heated about it. So it's a little out of spite running one. I'll probably drop it and pick up a small squad of reavers instead. The reason for the aegis is because there are a few players who will probably be there running flyers. The allied list is one of the biggest glass hammers but it packs huge amounts of fire power.

I'm not at home and I haven't my codex now but I think is written in the option of the unit...

Ah found it! Page 91 of the Codex:

'Note that units may not select a dedicated transport if the number of models in the unit is higher than the transport capacity of the vehicle'

I would be heated as well if someone insisted that they could! Still taking a raider won't be a bad thing for your list everyone likes a bit of extra dark light!
