| New addition and I've more or less finished off the under-hull ribs. I've also added a few extra features to break the ribs up a bit and make the underbelly a bit more interesting, but still kept it simple. This is the least visible section of the boat after all. Next sokme upper hull work, and I've started to use filler paste (meant for holes in walls) to fill in some of the cavities. I needed these sections to be stronger in terms of stability, espeically once I start adding the upper deck decor, and it also helps to fill in a few imperfections in the hull. YOu can see from the picture below a few holes in the hull still which will be filled in with weapons at the front and engines at the rear, with steps on the inner sections. The front, or prow if you will, is a flat ramp for now, but much more will be added to that at some point. | |

| I've started adding to the rear ports, adding a few small bits as the start of the engines. These are basic components from the Raider kit, and will hopefully serve fairly well. The front has also been added to significantly, with more plating (plasticard) giving a bit more definition. I was also able to properly mark out the gun-ports and add the weapons themselves. These weapons are custom built too, just by sticking a row of plasticard rods (very thin) around a thicker rod. This isn;t going to take much longer to build actually. I've got the deck and rear to finish off now, and the over-hull spine. THe deck needs steps to the front and rear raised sections, and the rear just needs me to finish and smooth out the engine sections, and to add more to the armour plating at the back where the Raider hulls were separated. The over-hull spine will be the replacement for the sail, as I don't really want a sail. It'll be a single enforced piece attached to the front of the hull, sweeping back of the deck. There will be a hole in the front for the driver to see out of too. Something a little like this: THis is a very early stages WIP concept you understand, as I may find I can't get it to stay upright once built. We can try though! Going off topic, I've also recently been building a bit more terrain for my own collection. A lot of it is mundane stuff - ruined buildings, etc - but one specific central piece was quite pleasing and pride-enducing, so I thought I would share: Yes, thats a Space Marine at its base. I'm thinking of adding a bit of rubble at its base to make it obvious sticking out the ground, or mounting it on a base with an obvious crater around the wrist. Undecided though, as I find bases awkward for storing terrain pieces..... | |

| Amazed by your plasticard modeling skills, looking forward to the finished tantalus.
suggestion for the sail: you can make it realistic looking, using thicker rods/plasticard for the support beam, then use the thinner cuts for the sail and drill holes on both so you can attach them together with paper clips. | |

For a moment I thought that was the Right Hand of Doom (from Hellboy).

| Steps added to make access possible to the front and back raised platforms on the deck. Basic plastic strips form the bulk, but with thr awkward shape of Raider hulls I've had to start using green stuff at both sides of the plastic strips to fill it out properly. Hopefully it'll come out quite seemless, or at the very least unnoticeable. I'm debating what to do about the Scythevanes, the arge spikes that are supposed to be at the back on either side to slash at people as the Tantalus drives past. I'm not sure I like the idea of large spikes on this boat the moment, so I might cover it up with armed crew instead. And finally in other news, I've a couple ofo friends who are trying to convince me based on some my conversions - but mainly based on my custom scratch-builds and terrain pieces, to start taking commissions for builds like these. So yeah, I might start doing that. | |

| Well, I guess you will not have a problem finding customers, not with those kind of modeling skills. R really have to say, I love your work on the Tantalus. Especially the raised level, looking really great.

| A brief Tantalus update. I'm at a stage where I'm very slowly filling in any gaps in the hull with green stuff, which emans doing a bit, waiting for it to dry, then adding more until an area is nice and smooth. Its a slow process, but it is coming along nicely. Here's a picture of the entire boat so far, Warrior added at the rear for scale. You get a decent view of the main deck here with both rear and fore raised platforms, and the steps leading up to them. At the moment it has a scarce simplicity I quite like, but I am still debating adding the large rear spikes the Tsantalus should have - and I am aware that rules-wise it might be better if I did so that it has the same width as the proper Tantalus. I am definitely still planning to add the curved spine coming off the front and reaching back over the deck, and will make a start on this soon, once a few frontal areas have been filled in properly. | |

| Filling in the gaps in the current Tantalus build has taken far more time than I expected, but I've finally been able to get other things added. At the rear I've started adding the final detals to fill in the details between the Raider hulls, and added a couple of nice new spikes to add a little extra something. I think I'm down to thinking that the rear platform will house either a throne dias or a webway portal. I've got most of the front shield/fin done too. The intention is to have a pilot inside the hollow within the shield with a couple of screens and consoles. I'll be trying to put this together next, and try to finish the smooting out and the rear platform before adding the whatever. | |

| A quick addition, the work in progress pilot. He'll be stood within the alcove at the front behind the shield-fin, a collection of monitors in front of him and a lovely flat-screen command console which you see here. Also, I've settled on a final design for my Plasma Obliterator. I've decided to stick to the theme set by my Bastion, and have the whyole thing sticking out of a crater in which is an open Webway Portal. If you didn't see my justification for this during the Bastion build, the idea is that for a fast moving army with access to portals, an outside the box idea was needed for either temporarily fortifying an area of providing a powerful weapons support platform at a moments notice. So the idea came to sites on Commoragh with large Webway Portal generators positioned above a series of large towers - weapons support platforms. Portals can then be opened using portable beacons directly on a battlefield, through which the weapons platform is simply raised on a massive piston, and lowered back into Commoragh when its not needed anymore. Based on earlier suggestions, this Plasma Obliterator will fit neatly into the catagory of strange and bizarre toys that my Kabal alongside the giant spinning Revenant. Its basically a giant space-God's eye, poked with amusing instruments in order to generate powerful energy blasts. It'll sit on top of a lovely tower with enough space for occupants to take their places and survey the damage. I also intend on trying to get a light source inside the eyeball, and make it as directed as possible to create an actual beam. | |

| Giant. Boob. Nipple GUN? Sir! This is a Nipple CANNON! No, its going to be an eyeball. As a final quick update for today, I've started working on the other two members of the Heroes Path. I added my Shadowseer a while back (Harlequin lady with a massive lantern) so here are the Solitaire on the left (blank face, massive flaming sword) and Death Jester on the right (massive cannon, skull-face). | |

| Death Jester, as part of my Heroes Path: Legs are Dark Elf Corsair, the body a slight mix with a Corsair's chest and a Dark Eldar Warriors back, bulked out with green stuff to enlarge the body and the shoulders. Arms are old Reaver jetbike riders, hun obviously a scatterlaser. The head is a skull formally held in the hand of an Empire Wizard. The wiring coming from the gun is firstly a piece of picture hanging wire, then threaded around with acrual thread. I'm applying layers of liquid Green Stuff over this to harden it, the effect being a very messy and loose set of wires as you see here. Tantalus nearly done. Just needs something buiolt for the rear platform, and I'm trying to work out if I can make a very old looking Warrior (for Noah), possibly to sit on the steps of the back platform. | |

| Tantalus very nearly finished! I've decided on a Portal for the back platform. I like the idea of the Tantalus, which I;ve always imagined as the special transport for and Archon or the Court, having a good direct portal link to home. So here's the portal, mostly done. I don't know if you remember my actual (now useless) Webway Portal: But the centr will be very similar. The centre of the round bit at the front will have a straight image pasted into it, and the lumpy things seen in the above portal around the outside as the edges of the portal. Here's the portal on the Tantalus rear platform. I plan to add a few more bits and pieces to the back, extra machinery, etc, and several wires to bulk it out and fill in the area. But for now, that leaves the Tantalus pretty much done. | |
