| Howdy fellow citizens of the webways or the stars!
The forgeworld's Reaper model has a big shiny haywire gun, which if it actually managed to land a shot on a vehicle does D3 haywire shots. My question is do enemy vehicles get a save against the attack as a whole, or against each pen/glance individually? (say we're shooting at a raider wth flickerfields so it has a 5++)
Does a result of 3 hits mean 3x 5++ rolls, or one 5++ potentially negating the whole shebang?
Don't have my rulebook to check wording. Thx in advance!

| I believe saves are taken vs glances/pens rather than hits. | |

| I think so too, can't find anything specific in rulebook except that Vehicle cover saves (which I know it isn't) are taken vs glances/pens. I think of it the same way a weapon causing multiple wounds per hit would work, you'd have to take the save against each wound even if you were only hit once.

| Yeah, just read the book AND the Faq/errata, I see exactly what both of you do and nothing that suggests otherwise. | |

| Well, is there cover from Special Rule?
Cause it wasnt caused by hit, it was caused by Special Rule effect. How do you define value of cover from that?

| I had a similar question about the standard haywire in 5th. GW said it caused two saves to be made. I'm guessing the same ruleing applies, except for fliers who jink against each hit instead of wound. | |

| The order is: 1. Roll to Hit 2. Roll D3 to see number of potential armour pen rolls. 3. Roll to see how many actually pen / glance.
Now, at this point cover or invul saves can be taken, if available.
Walking through it: 1. You hit 2. You roll a 5, and therefore have 3 haywire hits. 3. you roll 2 glances and 1 pen. 4. If opponent has a cover or invuln save, they pick the best available and roll in groups. First the 2 glances, then the pen - or the other way if it makes you feel better.
Regardless, the save is against what actually pen'd / glanced. Not the original hit, nor the probability of pen/glance.
The main text here is on page 75, 2nd bullet, 2nd sentence: "... exactly like a non-vehicle model would do against a Wound ..."
