The Monthly Vow, March 2014 - Imperial Knights await the taste of our dark light

March is here.  Already.

New IG are due next month, but in the meantime we must learn how to kill these pesky new knights with their shiny heraldry.  And the jungle drums are still bleating about some new CSM targets for us later this month!  

So, what are you going to paint this month? Moar dark light would be prudent.

Make a vow of what you hope to achieve during March and if you succeed, you will get your name highlighted in a specially-formulated Commorraghan purple, designed just for TDC!  And don't forget, we love pics, so show us your progress with some WIP pictures and then some more of your finished product.

So, I will kick off this month's pledge with my first CSM squad, which consists of one DV Chaos Lord and 13 DV Chosen. Basically primed and done in their initial coat so far.

Love all that baroque armour!

This month I are be mostly doing some Trueborn, along with a Duke Sliscus conversion. I'm aiming for 9 Trueborn + Sliscus. Mixture of Shardcarbines, Splinter Cannon and Dark Lances.

I'm aiming for 2 converted venoms and a host of CSM with a Huron blackheart conversion as Nightlords

I'm aiming for two squads of 4 blaster born. Right now mostly primed but still have some converting to do

Aiming for:
-Complete bases and paint on 3 30K World Eater jetbikes.
-Base and finish modeling WE Contemptor from last month, apply basecoat
-Complete Chaplain and Centurian conversions

and not least: paint at least one Dark Eldar model so that I stop feeling like a tool

So I have finished my venoms and 20 Night lords. I have a tournament in early april that requires my list to be submitted 2 weeks yesterday so I am trying to get all my painting done before I submit a list with those models in it.

So in addition to these I am aiming to paint a huron blackheart night lord conversion, a night lords heldrake, 10 raptors, a rhino, a haemonculus and 10 wyches. So not too much.

The Centurian just needs the gore treatment to be completely painted. I really want to gore him up tonight, but I'm going to a social gathering and probably shouldn't have a ton of fake blood splattered and staining my hands.....Then again, might make for interesting conversations?

Trust me, IT NEVER ENDS!!!   

Bit closer to the vow completion. I actually decided to fully paint the Centurian and Chaplain in addition to base coating the Contemptor.


They'll both get the gore treatment tomorrow.

Sooo in addition to my 20 CSM I now have 10 wyches painted up in two squads:





I painted this very quickly, partly because of time, partly because sadly the rest of my dark eldar are of a similar standard....

On the other hand I have put a crap tonne of effort into my night lords in general and into these raptors which I think has paid dividends:

Thats my March Vow over now a total of 20 CSM, 10 Raptors, 10 Wyches, 2 converted venoms, 1 Huron Blackheart conversion and 1 Hemonculus!...but still have a heldrake and a rhino to paint before the 5th of April and my tournament! Rhino is underway heldrake is awaiting primer!

Contemptor is basecoated and washed with quite a few highlights. I'm sure that it will get completed Saturday. A pic will be posted of course.

I think this is the first vow in far too long that I actually finished!

My Titan will be done getting built by the end of the month, not sure about the painting or not.

Got Sliscus and 5 Trueborn finished. Other 4 Trueborn are converted, primed and basecoated but no way I'll get them finished in time. Pics to follow.

I'm cheating a bit on next month's vow by getting some base colors on the Cataphractii squad that I wanted to paint. I'm thinking about touching up my coven models, adding gore, possibly painting that last coven raider(finally)

Good haul for the month, hoping to maintain momentum!
