Hi guys, quite a stupid question but...I'm planning to create a rocky base (just adding some cork, nothing complicated) for my archont, but this would make him a lil bit taller. Now for the LoS do I consider the real cover given by scenics or what? Could create problems?
thx

Scenic bases do often play with LoS a bit, especially if they're ridiculous. You'll just have to accept that an Archon made taller by his base will be more visible (though the base as part of the model would be taken into account when judging if the model is partially or mostly behind cover).

Its no reason to avoid it!
So what, you're a centimetre at most taller. So? It looks good!
(If it helps, you can always reduce the height a little by mounting the rocks on an appropriate sized coin rather than a GW base. A British 2p coin is the right size.

Yeah, at most it might raise his head above a head height wall. Don't sacrifice bangin' looking models for a cover save! Are you an archon or a guardsman??
2p coins are so useful. I used to stick em under the bases of models that didn't stand up properly, so good for stability.

I have to concur.

Too many excellent models ruined by a stark, black, boring, base.
