Apocalypse: Webway Assault Empty
PostSubject: Apocalypse: Webway Assault   Apocalypse: Webway Assault I_icon_minitimeFri Apr 04 2014, 08:39

Hello Fellow archons,
I havent found any answer to this question yet, maybe my search fu is weak but....
Well, the strategic asset "webway assault" says place 3 markers, you may enter from them. but it does neither say:
how big the markers are
if you can block them by standing on them
who may enter through them (superheavies, fliers)
or any other details. So I wondered how you play them.
its kinda important as im participating in a 200k apoc this week and need it for my 15k DE...

I don't have the Apocalypse rules, but from the information you've supplied I would make the assumption that they are Webway Portals as per the DE codex and use the same rules.

well, i thought that at first too, but:

Use this Strategic Asset after deployment. Place three markers or suitable terrain pieces anywhere on the battlefield. Friendly Dark Eldar units moving on from Strategic Reserve may do so from these markers instead of a table edge.

it really doesnt sound like that...

Why not? There doesn't seem to be anything in the Apoc rules that would require the WWP to be used any differently to the standard codex version. The 'marker' would be a small blast template and the 'suitable terrain piece' would be

They're just standard Webway Portals (small blast, as pictured above).
You can't stand on them as they're impassable (and round, good luck balancing a model on that). But you can surround them, preventing anything coming through on foot.
As for who can use them, no vehicles at all.

The giant webway you can get for the archon/kabalite/incubi/trueborn Arterial Webway Strike apocalypse formation thingy, on the other hand, specifically allows vehicles.
