Greetings, fellow trueborn

Hey all, new Dark Eldar player (from Finland) here!

I first got into 40k about 20 years ago, but kind of got distracted from it for a while in the noughties. I tried getting back into the good old muhreens when 5ed came out, but it just couldn't carry my interest. I've been following GW happenings on and off, but when I first saw the new Dark Eldar minis, I knew I was sold.

I've been slowly accumulating a pile of miniatures over the past six months (I just realised if I stuck it all together, I could easily do 3000 points...), but haven't gotten into painting yet. I was a "neat, but flat colors only" kind of guy as a kid, but I'm definitely looking to improve myself as a painter. I'm currently finishing my doctoral dissertation, and my little spiky kabalites are going to be my reward for myself when I'm done.

I've been mostly hanging around at Warseer, but as time passes I feel more and more interested in simply the Dark Kin (and, to a lesser degree, the mobile home Eldar - I just spent the last two months on a massive spending spree to get all the Mobile Home Eldar metallics I needed before they get done over in failcast - the devil you know etc.), which is why I decided to join this forum (with it's gorgeous header image!)

So, sitting on a ton of minis here, occasionally sticking one or two together, trying out lists as a mental exercise (and never getting any feedback on Warseer... ), waiting to unleash it on... somebody.

While I understand the need for the "no links in the first seven days", I'm still sad I only realised this after writing a novella on my project. Now you'll have to wait until next week before you get to read it! ;D

No can do, it's the first part of my project log and has a couple of embedded links to tutorials and materials I'm using. I'll just hold on to it until next week, I just felt a need for some minor humorour venting, after realising my limits only too late. But that is so common in life, isn't it?

Trust me, I understand the need for such a limit very well, I've admined a board or two in my days.

I've decided to take a break from this community, to concentrate on real life stuff and brushing up my painting skills (pun only semi-intended) with some Mordor orcs. Hopefully, I'll be able to come back at a later date, when the kabal rides again.
