Ravagers useless in 7th?

If the DE aircraft had vector dancer they might be worth it... Until then I will stick to my ravagers despite having 2 razor wings and a void raven on hand. Want an AA platform - run a crimson hunter from eldar

Player against IG today. 2v2 my partner was eldar. Our opponents both brought IG. I brought a decent CC list. Had to void raven bombers that did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It was horrible. My dice rolls were atrocious though, so not a reliable source of performance. 1 IG player brought fire barrels on all of his tanks. He knew I would have haywire wyches. In case you don't know fire barrels, they basically give their tanks over watch. It gets D6 S4 AP5 autohits when charged THEN the occupants get over watch. It wiped out a five man wych unit. Not hard to do but makes charging vehicles all but useless with a 5 man squad. The other player did not bring those so I pretty much collapsed the entire right flank in one turn with a unit of grots and 6 venoms full of HWG wyches. Void ravens came on and basically flew around. Didn't wen get anything with the mines. I rolled ones nonstop. In the end we still took the victory but was hard fought .... And hilarious. Priceless to see 2k IG go down all almost in one turn.

i think it may be flamethrowers due to 'fire barrels' use in context

Fire barrels are a new piece of vehicle wargear for IG that function as said.

I love my Void Raven Bomber, usually performs pretty well. The mix of missiles and void lances means you'll never be short of a target to shoot and you'll usually do some damage when you do. I run 1 bomber, 1 Dissie Ravager and 1 Lance Ravager. The lance Ravager usually performs the least. I like the mix though.

Just FYI. Each unit that assaults a vehicle with fire barrels gets hit. So, announcing over watch with say; grots to absorb over watch won't stop the second unit from also getting hit. D6 S4 AP5 auto hits

That is not terrible. Not atall. Though honestly, it totally makes sense. Anti-personell 50 cals have been put on tanks since like World War 1.

it is terrible. it essentially makes 5 man wych squads kind of.... "meh." i only assaulted his side of the board once with my wyches and out of 5 3 died. which makes them kind of useless. Its not so bad for grots or wracks, but pretty much any of our other more effective tank killers, it kind of sucks.

1 opponent out of 17 codex's is hardly reason for alarm though.

We may see a rise in anti assault kits like the flechettes but they really aren't something that will be on every chassis since the cost adds up and they don't stop ranged attacks. They are also randomly good to completely ineffective depending on the unit. For example a beast pack with terminator bases led by karandras (using my pack as example) could care less.
