| at first I was thinking scissorhand because I think it is a good weapon for 10 pts... but then I remember how my usual opponant plays space marine so I'm trying to look if I can squeeze 2 agonizer | |

| Agonizers are killer if you know there'll be a bunch of 3+ saves, but Scissorhand lets you engage Terminators and at least stand a chance against Dreadnoughts and the like.
Ideally you'll have specialists that can deal with 2+ saves and AV12 though, so I'd go Agonizer if I knew I had those two bases covered and that they'd have some good targets to go after.

| I used to always take the Scissorhands, but more recently I've been tending towards 'neither'. I rarely even take Aberrations anymore. | |

| Aren't they so damn expensive with agoniser? The grotesquerie is already eating a lot of points. | |

Yeah, this is how I feel (that Agoniser is almost as expensive as an additional grotesque). I mean, even a minimum Grotesquerie with 2 Raiders is about 400pts for just 2 squads. As someone who's always preferred MSU armies, I'm uncomfortable adding much to that cost.

| I like the aberration to take challenges for other characters as the can scare people with either the flesh gauntlet because he can ID them or use scissorhands or the agoniser as an option as well. They are also useful for the babysitter character to help protect them
When I run two units I tend to run one with an agoniser because sometimes you just really need to kill that 3 + armour save and don't feel like relying on your opponent failing those saves. Sometimes those 3+ saves are rolled hot and you just can't get any wounds through. The other aberration with either scissorhands or?... I forgot whatelse I might give him? Poision blade? Just to ensure I put out plenty of wounds?.

Yeah, this seems wise, and probably the best reason for bringing him. I'd probably keep him toting the standard issue gauntlet, as the other weapons split the focus of the unit, and cost you a fair sum. - colinsherlow wrote:

Maybe a venom blade? 2+ to wound. I thought only Wracks and Scourges get access to venom blades though.

| You would be correct. Wracks are the only ones who are allowed to take it off the table, and Scourges have seperate access to it through their dataslate. | |

| My vote is the agonizer though I usually don't run mine with an aberration or upgrades. The agonizer is just so expensive. | |

For what it's worth, the Aberration is probably better with it than an Archon against most targets.

| I have just started trying out the Aberration + Agonizer and have only played a couple games so I haven't formed a conclusive opinion yet. I like the combo but I'm not sure if it's worth the points in my meta as of yet. | |
