As for what conditions you want to eschew Bladevanes:
T3 Bladevanes wound 2/3 CCW 5/6 (+25%)
T4 BV 1/2 CCW 2/3 (+33%)
T5 BV 1/3 CCW 2/3 (+100%)
T6 BV 1/3 CCW 1/2 (+50%)
T7 BV 1/3 CCW 1/3 (=)
T8 BV 1/6 CCW 1/3 (+100%)
Save 2+ Bladevanes unsaved 1/3 CCW 1/6 (-50%)
Sv 3+ BV 1/2 CCW 1/3 (-33%)
Sv 4+ BV 2/3 CCW 1/2 (-25%)
Sv 5+ BV 5/6 CCW 2/3 (-20%)
Sv 6+ BV 1 CCW 5/6 (-17%)
Sv 7+ (or Invul) BV 1 CCW 1 (=)
Then combine the change in wound rate and unsaved rate to see if you are better off with the CCW. For example, against a Terminator, you would gain +33% from the wound rate and lose -50% from the save rate, so Bladevanes are better, and against a Sslyth, you would gain +100% from the wound rate and lose 20% from the save rate. Against most targets the CCW will win out.
The cases where Bladevanes win:
T3 with 2+ or 3+ saves (e.g. Incubi)
T4 with 2+ saves (e.g. Terminators)
T7 with any non-invulnerable save of 6+ or better (e.g. Rhino)
