The most out of the Start Collecting - Box

Hi,

i´m back in the hobby and i´m exited about the "new" Dark Eldar.

So i´ll try to build a usefull list with the models from the start collecting

(1 Succubus. 10 Whyches, 3 Jetbikes and 1 Venom) with 2 of them i can easily build a Red Grief Battalion:

2 Succubus

5 Whyches in Venom
5 Whyches in Venom
10 Whyches

and 6 Bikes

Thats about ~400 Points with gear etc...

What now? I want to focus first on 1000 Points. Maybe add a Raider, cut down the 10 Whyches to 9 and put 1 Succu + 9 Whyches into it?

And as a 2nd Detachement i though about "Prophets of Flesh" Battalion:

Urien
Haemonculi

3x5 Wracks

3-5 Grotesque

and 1-2 Talos

The battleplan will be:

charge and bind the heavyshoters with the Red Grief - Units and then finish off with the bigboys.

Wracks for objectives / Deepstrike protection on my side.


do you think this works? Or should i dont buy the start collection cause the units are "trash"?

The raider idea seems good, go for that next, and if you like coven then do that. most units are pretty decent now, you can mostly play what you want and it won't be uncompetitive. The red greif, especially with reavers, is very strong, you have the right idea with tying them up with that before getting your coven stuff in. Ultimately, buy the models that you like and you'll be fine. The start collecting units certainly aren't "trash", they are actually a good staple for your army. Also, your english is fine.

Back in the days (6. / 7. Edition) i played a venom spam on tournaments and it was pretty nice.

But that will Change the List above:

3 Venoms with splittercanons
2 Ravager with Disingratoecannons

Thais about 800 Points. Solid and fast firepower from the Venoms (open topped) supported by 2 Ravagers
