Kabal of the Crimsom Shadow

All the sigils in the army are freehand. I take inspiration here and there and then i put something of my own but no stencils (I don't own an airbrush anyways).

I  like drazhar too. It seems an easy conversion but it gave me some troubles, the arms had to be reesculpted as the back of the helmet had (if you move the head the spine of the heel don't fit with the trophy racks).

But well, at the end I'm quite happy with how it turns out

It´s been a long time but here i am again...

the bad news is that i have sold or repainted the kabalite part of my army (at least the "non vintage" part of it).
The good news is that i made some progress with the wyches.

Now im working on a HQ miniature and i think it looks cool but it will take some time before i can show something of it.

Your shading and highlighting is fantastic.

And those sails and canopies are freehand you say? wow.


I particularly like your colour choices as well. The simple black design with the minimalist use of reds and the neutral spot colours really stand out.

HQ time. At first this miniature started as a khymerae conversion, then I thougthk that a beastmaster could be cool and then I realised that I didn't have any custom HQ in my cult sooooo... Here is my new succubus.

Quick update in order to show you my new unit of wyches. Only five of them that will go in a venom to the battlefield or in a raider when i paint five more of them.

I think i will need more wyches than i thought when i started to paint this army

Hi to all brothers of Commorragh, time for an army update.

First of all some warp beast for my beast master (Despite of the pics, i don´t use gloss barnish. I should, maybe, wait more until taking the pics after varnishing the models...).

The beasts are about 15 years old (or even more) so not all the original pieces survived. Nothing we can´t handle with a bit of green stuff.








Time for the new unit of wyches. Five of the wyches were painted the past month but now i complete the unit with five more.







And last but no least... the new raiders (one with more details and one completely new).

These are very nice, you're a wonderful painter. My favorite part of this project log so far are the sails on the raiders. They're quite impressive.

This project log continues to be a joy to behold. Wonderful designs on the raiders and the glossy blacks and reds are painted very stylishly! You're really getting the most out of the dots of light technique.

here i am again, this time i will show you my wych cult venoms.

These are the same models i painted time ago but i decided that the cult venoms will look wild with all the trophy racks etc so i destroyed a bit what i had and started to convert them (i didn´t want to own the three same models).

Man, those are gorgeous. I'm just in love with that red effect you've gotten on the venoms and raiders. You're a wonderful painter, has me pretty jealous. You should totally get a Tantalus

Here i am again, this will not be a huge update but i feel i am getting closer to finish the cult part of the army (at least the core of it).

This are the first five of the last unit of 3  of ten wyches, so only five to go and i will have painted  30 new wyches (and ten metal old ones), two raiders, 3 venoms, one razorwing, lelith (original and the scratchbuilt one), the beastmaster with 4 kymerae and five hellions.

i still have another razorwing, five more hellions and 9 reaver bikes in queue but im not sure if i will go on with more wych cult or i will start painting some kabalites.

Wyches time again... with these five wyches i have painted three units of ten so i can tell i finished the core of my wych cult. i think i will expanse the collection with another raider and i have a razorwing, nine reavers and five more hellions waiting to be painted but i am tempted with the idea of doing an archon and start with the kabalites of the army. I will see...

Quick update to show the new members of the warpbeasts unit. If I'm not wrong, the max number of warp beast in the unit is 12, however I think I will consider this unit finished.
I would like to expand the beasts section of the cult but the razorwing flocks are too expensive and the fiends only have one model so time will tell.

Those old khyamerae models? I like those a lot actually, and yours look quite nice.

This is amazing. You actually made the old warp beast models look good. The greenstuff game is on point. The freehand is crisp. The bases are dynamic. And the edge highlighting is bright and clear.

Hi all, next unit of my Wych cult, the hellions. I don't know if I could make a competitive cult list but I will try.




The next step... painting some reavers o razorwing floks.

Next unit of my Wych cult, the reavers. I'm getting closer to the end of this facción of my army as I only own 6 more reavers and one more razorwing (other venoms and vehicles will be painted as part of the kabal faction). However, I feel that if I don't get some flocks, clawed fiends or some more beastmasters the cult will not be truly finished so I don't know I I will soon start the kabal portion of the army or not.
Anyhow, here are the first 3 of my reavers, 6 to go.
