| [Ť Ʒ Θ Ŧ Ξ Υ Ψ Ħ Γ Ұ Ҹ Ӂ Ѫ Ғ Џ Ѳ Σ Л Î Π]I've altered this fine piece of fine meat (well, topic) to MY specifications. Feel free to delete this notification and rename Your topic Garfy. Oh and post in "gallery" style Proper tutorial will come... soon. Local_Ork [Π Î Л Σ Ѳ Џ Ғ Ѫ Ӂ Ҹ Ұ Γ Ħ Ψ Υ Ξ Ŧ Θ Ʒ Ť] I advanced ordered this on the GW site in the vain hope of getting this model early and GW didn't disappoint. It turned up on the 31st May, a full 4 days before release. 5 days later and I've completed it. My new Canon DSLR is a very unforgiving camera it shows everything in great detail, including the flaws. I feel the model is much better in real life, but these pics do show things your eye doesn't see, so it's quite interesting. | |

| Fantastic. Your camera and lighting are just miles above what I'm working with. Don't apologize for them! | |

| Wow... This looks like straight from the GW studio. Very well done! I love how the colors are so clean and and everything fits together. Nice Bases and cool Carnifex, too! You have some sweet models right there. My Talos should arrive any day this week! _________________ Visit my project log [last update: February 10th]: The Ebon Fire

| I like the stark contrast between the skin and the bone. I am assuming the skin was done with deneb stone, bleached bone, and leviathan purple wash? If not, then please pray tell on your recipe? _________________ Some people play tennis, I erode the human soul.

| I believe he only air brushed the carapace to get it the grey highlight. It's most noticeable on the forearms. Which is probably what he was pointing out about his camera catching things the normal eye wouldn't. _________________ Some people play tennis, I erode the human soul.

I mixed warlock purple into elf flesh and then basecoated all the skin areas. The I mix further amounts of elf flesh into the mix and highlight up. I finally finish off with some vallejo game colour Elfric Flesh highlights. No washes, it was painted the old skool way. It's more time consuming but results are better imo. - Liberame wrote:

| I painted this last month. I airbrush the hulls using scaly green and then hawk turquoise. I edge highlight with turquoise and white mix and line the armour plates with black by brush. I like using tin bitz for my weaponry, especially dark light tech, just feels more fitting using as dark metallic. | |

| Airbrushes are horrible things! It makes us who don't have the time or resources to learn how to use them, feel seriously inferior with our brush-painted models.
At least thats how I feel.
But to talk about the ravager - it looks really good! _________________ Kabal of the Shadow Phoenix - Background Kabal of the Shadow Phoenix - Painting BlogModelled: 2753 pts Painted: 2263pts - shamroll wrote:

| B-but I like my airbrush I realy like one simple thing that 99% of painters don't do: Use lining only where edges actually could reflect light, not everywhere. Oh and colour. Nice turquise is nice. | |

| I don't feel bad about not using an airbrush. I view it as cheating. | |

| It is same ammount of cheating as using black and white primers to make zenithal light and then covering that in wash. Ok, it stink less but that's it.
Best say it's another tool since you can't make everything with it. | |

Good point. I may have been a bit harsh earlier. It is just that I quite often think "How the heck did he achieve such smooth layering? ...Oh, he used an airbrush." _________________ Kabal of the Shadow Phoenix - Background Kabal of the Shadow Phoenix - Painting BlogModelled: 2753 pts Painted: 2263pts - shamroll wrote:

| I'm actually offended at being accused of cheating. It's taken me years to learn how to use my airbrush, it isn't easy and requires skill. But if it makes you feel better here's a pic of grey knight nemesis force weapons I painted by brush. _________________ | |

| I encourage all kinds of "cheating". Everything that makes more armies more painted must be encouraged, drybrush, dipping, aribrushing are all nice short-cuts, and can look fantastic, as when implemented like here. | |

| The only "cheating" I can think of is that if it was photo-manipulated and not acknowledged as such. On topic though, such a smooth and beautiful turquoise you've got there, and the bronze is another great colour too. _________________ http://feralique.blogspot.com/

Yes, You must be calm, skillful and pure like freaking stone Buddha to use airbrush propertly (I only use mine double action as single action yet ) If I can make computer comparision brushes are Microsoft Paint while airbrushes are Adobe Photoshop.

| That ravaged looks great! Do you airbus piece by piece as you assemble it?
I've been entertaining the idea of an airbrush, but haven't been able to convince myself I could wait to put models together tull after they are painted. _________________ Lysis
