BFG Amry List - Dark Eldar

So my buddy who works with me just agreed to spend our lunches playing flashdrive swap vassal BFG!
Anyway this list is the "we should probably try to figure out how this game works again" list

250 - 1 Capital with Launchbays
150 - Escort Squadron with lances (x3)
100 - Escort Squadron with Batteries (x2)

for 500pt total.

No clue what he will bring. Gonna hand him the flashdrive to look over everything, I suspect he will play Navy, but we will see. Once I have his list, I will post it here and once the battle is underway I will do up a per turn rep and post in the forums.

I have found that mimic engines + the assault module to be very good combination for escorts. Sadly escorts are sucicidal anyway, might as well make them do some massive damage while they are at it

Good luck with it, I am still learning BFG as well (only played 4 games of it) and would love to see some of the reports you right up.

I may have to try that, I have only played 3 or 4 games and had posted a few questions on Dakka a while back with fun pictures, but I was gonna run this list with the 3 lances as ship hunters, the bats as clearance and to deal with any small craft that get too close. The cruiser's primary target is to have 1 assault boat hit on every single escort foolish enough to allow it. Slave runs = free victory point and since it counts as a hit, it kills the escort too!

@Searing Wind - With [*Mod Hammered!*] all the rule books still up on GW's website at the unthinkable cost of FREE, get it and find a buddy to play with [using ships made of spare GW bits]. With Dark Eldar, Orks, and Nids (as well as really any fleet) you can easily make the entire force out of spare 40k parts. so if you play 40k, you can play BFG no problem.

Well my buddy told me to make his list for him so I drafted 3 quick 500pt options. Going to let him have his pick.
Fleet 1
235 - Overlord
130 - Defiant
35 - Sword
35 - Sword
35 - Sword
30 - Cobra

The Overlord has some serious range with the lances and batteries (as a Dark Eldar, I fear batteries more than most other guns) can reach out a solid 60cm! and having 6 forward torpedoes is not too bad.
The Defiant has aircraft, figured he may want to try them out too, so this list has every type of normal gun.
Swords are the standard for IN and the Cobra was all I could fit in for the points.

Fleet 2
245 - Armageddon
120 - Endeavour
35 - Sword
35 - Sword
35 - Sword
30 - Cobra

The Armageddon has a whopping 4 (technically 6) lances, 2 of which are 60cm, the other 2(4) are side mounts at 45 cm, has a full compliment of batteries and torpedoes, good looking ship, though I think the first list may be the better optionl. The Endeavour looked nice enough with a solid 8 batteries on her and 2 torpedoes.

I like this list as a small game, more bodies, more targets. I would advise him not to squad the Endeavours for this list. Simple, not very flashy, and a solid 29 battery strength with an accompanying 8 Torpedo shots.

aircraft are the most broken thing in BFG, so you will find that the more launch bays you have, the better you will be

1) DE is very fast fleet - so you need try to attack fist and at rear side your opponents (his hasn't weapons there , but your a all "in closing" when fire )
2) try to use leached torpedo (-10 cm to move help your hide from the opponent's fleet)
3) change +2 battery it no so good choice for escort .....try to use impailer assault module- it give you additional A-bot who can inflict critical hit on 2D6 (it no limited by launch bays limits)
