Kheradruakh + Enemy Quad Gun = ??

I wanted something funny to pull on a regular opponent of mine, who always fields a quad gun, and I am beginning to think: Kheradruakh

The rules state the Decapitator can be placed anywhere you like, outside of 1" of an enemy model.
Gun emplacements in ADL are (AFAIK) not bound to the player who bought them.

1: Place Kher
2: Suffer opponents laugh for fielding him
3: Gun his hammerhead down in it's rear armor
4: Evil Dark Eldar giggle.

So yeah, is this legal?

If you can pull it off, it's certainly legal: there was a thread here a little while after 6th came out suggesting that DE don't need to take their own ADL, as they just pop over the wall and steal someone elses!

It would certainly be worth it for the look on your opponent's face!

The only catch is that most opponents will be manning their own gun - so you'd need to clear it out first.

Not if you just wanted to fire it. As long as you could move him into B2B with the gun whilst staying at least 1" from any enemy then he could fire it on the turn he arrives. He'll die next turn but what the hell!

I guess if the opponent sets up that way where you can see something worth shooting and be 1" away without clearing out anything, then yes.

I suspect clearing will still be required.

There is the problem of being intercepted by the quad gun you're standing next to, although if only one model is manning it you can prob use the gun itself to block LoS (and there might be other stuff your opponent would rather intercept).

He traps his enemies' souls and uses their strength to smash tanks.

He once failed a Shadowfield test, just to see how other HQs feel.

Sadly, we can't pull the same trick on a landing pad. The flipping is at the start of the movement phase, before rolling from reserves

But a lone surviving Reaver (or a squad of three) can use it to down enemy aircraft when they come in from reserves. Just place it BtB with the gun and shoot away before enemy gets to shoot you.

Fully legit. I've done the steal-your-gun trick before, the final shot in a tabling against wolves coming from their own quad gun manned by my archon in a fit of glee. It was brilliant.

Also, bonus points for Vasara's tactic - if you get into BtB with their quad gun, and gun down their flier when it enters from reserves, due to the wording of the interceptor rule the quad gun cannot be fired in the quad-gun player's shooting phase
