The Monthly Vow, September 2014 - paint it now, .......

That's right folks, rumour has it we are getting an updated codex and some new shiny in the next month or so.

According to the rumourmongers, who also didn't see GK coming down the turnpike.

So, right now, you are all staring at your hobby desks and shelves and thinking, "Hmmm, what should I paint for the new codex?  One of these?  Nah, they might get nerfed.  Or how about some of those, they should get a nice boost?"

Aren't you?

The answer is, paint it all!!!  That's right right, throw caution to the wind and paint everything in your DE closet.  The bonus is, you will then have your desk clear for the new shiny when it arrives.  See, strategic thinking right there.

Make a vow, or make it a threat, and tell us what you hope to achieve during September.  Paint it, slice it, convert it, ..... anything and everything.  Everyone who succeeds in their daring devil-do will get their name highlighted in TDC's highly-coveted-but-not-so-visible Commorraghan purpleTM!

I'll be trying my color scheme out for my Brotherhood on some kabalites. Not much besides that... so yeah -slow clap-

I'm painting 5 Eldar Dark Reapers plus an Exarch.

Mostly a mop-up of the stuff I didn't get done last month:

30K World Eaters:
-Paint Land Raider
-Assemble Spartan
-10 man Assault Squad

If the codex does drop this month:
-Something new and awesome! (Hopefully a cool new coven model)

-clears through- THIS! IS! SPARTA!!!!

If the standard version of a land raider would be made by Greeks, then the Spartans would produce the Spartan. ;-) seriously, it's the big bad ass transport version of the land raider.

My monthly vow is,
- Finnish my 4 scourges
- paint my 10 wraks
- finish my 5 PH EC Vets
- finish my 8some wyches
- put some more color on my PH EC Standard bearer

I guess in that order.

5 night lords havocs

2 night lord plasma gun wielding marines

1 night lord predator


I have injured my leg so I am unable to go running for a couple of weeks so theoretically this should leave me plenty of time to do this... Want to get all my CSM out of the way ready for Deldar!!!

Two Venoms to paint. Two Venoms and a Ravager to assemble and paint turned out to be too ambitious last month!

Damn, forgot a couple of things. I need to paint the following Crinson Fist items for a Mirror Match tournament Sep 13th at the LFGS:
5 Terminators
1 Terminator Captain
1 Marine with Flamer

Modify Farseer helm to Spiritseer helm+paint it
Paint helmet-less eldar head just in case I ruin my spiritseer helm conversion
Finish Venom
I won't do chosen, don't want to be trying to paint a new army when/if 'dex drops in the next few weeks. Instead-
Succubus with twin agonisers
Culexus Assassin

The Dark Reapers are coming along surprisingly quickly so might add something further to the vow for this month. Watch this space!

Dark Reapers finished one week into the month so I'm going to add 3 Tau Broadsides to the vow.

Blood for the blood god!!!!

No blood yet, distracted by trying to get the CF's ready for the Mirror Match tournament Saturday. I've had this Terminator captain model in the inventory for well over a decade. Magnetized the storm bolter(taken from FW Cataphractii combi bolter) for like no reason. I'm kinda known for magnetizing everything for the sake of magnetizing.

Shoulder pad? Magnetize.
Front and back Torso section? Magnetize
Head? Take a guess.

So, finished up my Venom. No WiP pics though. Had to paint canopy, weapon mounts and started out with only a red basecoat, so had ink it and do all the edging and highlights. After seeing other peoples stuff, I do feel somewhat outclassed in the painting department. But I want that purple font.

Also, I couldn't find the 2nd splinter cannon mount, so that makes this one of the only Venoms in all of Commorragh with splinter rifles.
