We played the Scorched Earth battle mission. 3 objectives, BA player went first.

Deployment: Spearhead

Objective placement: 1 in a ruin that was on fire (dangerous terrain), 1 in the middle of the map no cover, 1 in woodlands on fire.

Mostly every piece of terrain was on fire except for like 3 which we never used.

He deployed is DC in a SR, S. Guard and F. Dread in the other SR, Dante and H. Guard are DS, and the 2 Assault Squads on the table next to the SRs, in his corner close to the 9in circle in the middle.

I mostly reserved everything except the raiders and ravagers. The ravagers hid behind a building that provided Blocked LoS cause they were on fire \ smoking. 1 Raider hid behind another ruin whiched also was fire \ smoking, and the other raider was behind the burning woodland which held an objective.

Turn 1

BA
Movement:
He flatted out 1 of his SRs and cruising the other SR.
Moved 1 squad into a burning ruin to camp an objective, didnt lose anyone due to test.
The other squad to camp the objective in the middle with no cover, but behind a ruin which was on fire so it blocked LoS.

Shooting:
SR blew up 1 raider. No other casualties.

Assault: N/A

DE
Movement:
The raiderless squad moved into the burning woods and lost no one.
The other raider went flatout towards the middle objective.
The ravagers jumped out from behind in LoS of the SR with S. Guard and F. Dread.

Shooting:
Immobolized a SR and destroyed the LC.

Assault: N/A

Turn 2

BA
Movement:
Dante and H. Guard failed their reserve roll, and he refused to re-roll.
Went Cruising with his unimmobolized SR.
Attempted to surround the flat-out raider with the middle assault squad.

Shoot:
Wrecked a Ravager.
Destroyed foward DL on another.
Failed with Assault squad on the raider.

Assault:
Assaulted raider and managed to destroy the gun only.

DE
Movement:
Reserved brought in 2 reaver squads, 1 blaster squad, 1 wyche squad.
Both reaver squad came in from the table edge closest to the assault squad in a ruin and got within shooting range.
1 blaster squad came in from table edge in shooting range of the immobolized SR.
The wyches came out of the WWP in the burning woods, lost hekatrix and 1 wyche due to test.
Ravagers danced around a bit to get a better shot on the immobolized SR.
The raider that was assault moved 12in over the assault squad. The haemy jumped out the starboard side of the raider and the wyches jumped out on the port side.

Shooting:
Shot the SR with mostly everything and got some shakens and stunned and destroyed the HB.
haemy dropped the other WWP near the 9in non deploy zone in the BAs deployment zone.
Wyches shot the assault squad, no casualty
Both reaver squads shot the squad in the ruins and killed 6 guys, leaving 5 and the priest alive.

Assault:
Wyches assault the squad and killed like 2 assault guys the priest was killed by the hekatrix
The other wyche squad assaulted the immobolized SR no good results.
Both reaver squads 6in away from the ruins.

Turn 3

BA
Movement:
Dante with the H. Guard DS near the squad in the woods.
DC in the SR got out and moved to the assault near the middle.
SR moved to get close to my ravagers.
the S. Guard and F. Dread got out of their SR
The ruin squad jumped out and got 1in from one of the reaver squads.

Shooting:
The only capable SR killed 3 trueborns
Ruin squad killed 3 reavers in one squad. passed LD test
F. Dread wiped away wyche squad that assault the SR with flamer and meltagun
Dante and H. Guard, rapid fired into the woodland squad, I went to ground and only lost 1 person.

Assault:
Assault squad and DC squad together pretty much killed of all the wyches except the hextrix and 1 wych.
Assaulted a 3 man reaver squad and won combat and consolidated 3in behind rubble.

DE
Movement:
2 more wyches came into the table. 1 out of the WWP near the crazy assault in the middle of the table.
The other squad near the 5 man assault squad, they were like 10in away from my table edge.
The last 2 blaster squads came in, 1 in range of shooting the F. Dread through the WWP in the woods lost 1 due to test and failed LD test and fellback, the other behind the S. Guard but was to far to shoot.
Haemy got into the raider and went flat towards a blaster squad blocking a path to the blaster squad as a precaution.
1 Ravager got stuck in the woods, the other ravager passed its test.

Shooting:
Wyches fleeted to make sure my hekatrix will get B2B with the priest.
Ravagers and 5 blasters shot into the F. Dread, no results.
Reavers shot into the back of the S. Guard, killed 1 model.

Assault:
Wyches killed the priest and 3 models, leaving the PF sarg.
Reaver squad moved 6in away from the S. Guard to avoid getting counter assaulted.
1 the last remain wyche squad charged the DC and Assault squad to assist the 2 man wyche squad, killed some more assault guys.

Turn 4

BA
Movement:
Moved his S. Guard to go assist the battle royal in the middle of the table.
The F. Dread moved to the 2 blaster squads ( 1 man and a 3 man squad)
Dante and H. Guard didnt move.

Shooting:
Dante and H. Guard rapid fired again. 1 guy died due to gets hot, no casualties
SR tried to shoot the ravagers no results
F. Dread killed both blaster squads with a HF and meltagun

Assault:
The S. Guard assaulted in the battle royal. The both wyche squads died.
Assault squad died to the wyches near the ruins. consolidated towards the ruin
DC had to consolidate towards one of my ravagers.
The S. Guard consolidated toward the squad in the woods.
The assault squad stayed near the objective in the middle.

DE
Movement:
4 man blaster squad climbed onto the raider with the haemy and the raider moved 6in to get LoS with the rear of the F. Dread.
The wyche squad that wiped the assault squad moved 4in into the ruins and didnt lose anyone.
Reavers moved towards the 4 man squad that stayed near the middle objective.

Shooting:
Reavers shot up the assault squad, he went to ground but 3 died, the sarg ran towards the table edge stopping 1in away.
The wyches in the ruin fleeted towards the objective hiding in the ruin and started camping.
ravagers shot his S. Guard wiping all but 1, he went to ground, they are fearless so no test.
The DC fleeted towards the ravager.

Assault:
The DC didnt do anything to the ravager, 3 hit on a 6 but couldnt even glance.
Dante finally assaulted in with his H. Guard. The priest died due to test. His squad died due to hekatrix, only model B2B with dante didnt do anything, dante killed 1 model and passed his LD test.

DE
Movement:
Ravager moved away from the DC about 12in.
Reavers moved behind a statue to avoid his remain SR.
Raider moved behind the SR.

Shooting:
Blaster squad failed at doing anything to the SR.
Ravager that is stuck in the woods killed the 1 remain S. Guard
The other ravager killed the lonely Sarg. (He now has no troops to claim)

Assault:
The wyches died all that remains is the haemy in the woods.

Turn 5

Movement:
BA he moved is SR to shoot my reavers, but the cover save behind the statue prevent any casualties.
The DC forced to move into the woods towards the haemy thats still in combat with dante. Lost 4 models.

Shooting:
SR failed.

Assault:
DC charged into combat taking another test killing 1 more DC leaving only the one with a PW. Haemy dies.

DE:

Movement:
Moved to get the reavers in LoS with the SR and shoot, but nothing
Same with the blaster squad in the raider.
Same with the only mobile ravager.

Shooting:
everyone failed

Assault:
Moved the reavers near the ruin with the objective to prevent the SR from getting close to contesting.

Turn 6-7

He killed the Reavers, the DC and Dante were useless.
My Ravagers, and Blaster squad didnt do anything to the SR.
SR tried to contest but the base was like 5 in away from the objective due it being in the 2nd floor of the ruins.

Nice reading.

I'm about to try out a wwp list myself, its posted under army lists here. Its actually mentioned later in that thread, it has some venoms, raiders and a razorwing the rest comes true the portal.

Well thing is that wwp lists is such a gamble when reserving whole army and not being able to modify if they come early or late. Bringing some shooting around like you have done should work well. Some choices might be odd but everything has its place.

What did you feel really was the strength in the list. Not just what the best unit was, but the strongest element.

This game i felt the reavers were one of my best performers. The whole shooting with blasters and rifles then moving back 6in to prevent a revenge assault.

I did feel that dropping the hydra off the squads and bring 1 more body as a replacement was better investment. helped put less wounds on my hekatrix which pretty much did most of the damage for my squads.

My anti tank is pretty much whats getting me, its a pain trying to take down 2 SR, I kinda of fear what would happen if I have to take out a parking lot.

Also my plan to flatout my raider with the 2nd WWP to see if I can go deep into my friends deployment was a huge gamble that paid off.

Edit* also what do you mean by some odd choices?

Pretty much the same above with some changes

Astorath instead of dante
F. Dread w/ BT and EA

No S. Guard

Also, only his 2 assault squads got Red Thirst, on a 1 and a 3.

We played the some eldar battle mission. 3 objectives, I went first.

Deployment: Pitched Battle

Objective placement: The battle mission already had a set number and location for the objectives. Pretty much one of them was in my zone smack in the middle the other two were in his zone one in each quater. They made sort of a triangle.

We recently read a post somewhere in a blog or forum grading the missions in the battle mission book. Supposedly this mission was fair for both sides.

All the rules were pretty much normal, except whoever played as eldar was able to let any unit outflank if they reserved, and was able to choose with short table edge without rolling for sides. I ended up winning the roll to decide who was eldar.

For my deployment I had my two raider escorts and haemy on the table. My foot wyches were coming in from table edge. Everything else was outflanking including my ravagers.

The BA player had both of his SR in a corner and a unit camping the middle of is zone. The DC Dread and DC squad were in one SR, the F. Dread was in another. He declared DS on 1 assault squad and his H. Guard. Astoroth went with the camping squad.

Turn 1

DE
I moved 1 of my raiders cruising, had the haemy jump out by himself and drop the WWP.
The other raider went flat out to towards his squad (until today I have yet to figure out why I did that)

BA
He managed to surround the flat out raider and wreck, thus killing everything inside. (still dont know why I did that move)
He got his F. Dread SR and shot my other raider and blew it up, the wyches lived due to the pain token.

Turn 2

DE
1 Ravager, 1 reaver squad and 1 Blaster squadcame in, and I outflanked them on the side that had his F. Dread SR, both squads shot and only got 1 weapon Destroyed, I decided to do the HB in fear of the AI poweress. The Ravager shot at the DC SR and I think it was a shaken. I moved the reaver squad during the assault phase behind the ravager, in attempt to get a cover save.

BA
He moved both SRs away from my blaster squad, the DC SR moved near my ravager, and dropped of the DC Dread. The Assault Squad tried and surround the Ravager and reaver squad. The DC Dread shot the ravager and blew it up, the assault squad then assaulted the reavers, and killed everything off. Also his H. Guard DS next to my blaster squad and rapid fired into them killing 3 guys, I passed the morale test. He move his F. Dread SR near my wyche/ haemy squad who decided to hind in the crater of the exploded raider, then dropped of his F. Dread to assault.

Turn 3

DE
1 Squad of wyches came in, I decide to do the table edge instead of the WWP just to hide them in ruins about roughly 8-10in away from my objective and keep them their until turn 5. Another Reaver squad came in and my last two blaster squads came in, and both my ravagers (I forgot to roll for one of them, but we decided to let me roll to see if it came in, and if that 1 did I just couldnt shoot) 1 of the blaster squads managed to get into the crater that the ravager left behind with their 6in move that I rolled when I outflanked into difficult terrain. The other blaster squad were placed in about 16in away from the astorath squad. The reavers came in and got behind the DC Dread and shot rear armor and got an explosion (My mistake was not shooting with the blaster squad first that was near the Dread, due to the explosion it managed to kill 1 of the trueborns, they passed their morale). Then both squads of trueborns just shot the troop choice, he went to ground but still lost like 4-5 guys(he only had two scoring units, so I decided to target them and worry about the SRs later) my reavers moved 6in into a ruin passing their tests in the assault phase. I failed to get rid of the dread, but manged to stay in the fight.

BA
For some reason he wasted a decided to not move his H. Guard and shoot the 1 lonely blasterborn. The assault squad was still kissing the dirt hoping to not die. Also, his other assault squad DS in and scatted 6in away from my WWP (I grinned) Forgot to mention the WWP was about 10in from his other objective. F. Dread still unharmed. He also tried to shoot my ravagers with meltaguns, but failed due to NS ruining the distance. He moved his DC SR behind the my 3 man trueborn squad that was hiding in the crater, and shot at my reavers that were in a ruin (He was hoping to do enough to make them fallback, but they only lost 1 model out of 6. I would have shot the 4 man blaster squad that wasnt in cover)

Turn 4

The BAs downfall begins

DE
I manged two get my last 2 wyche squads to come in, they both came out of the WWP and attempted to surround the assault squad that DSd in, fleeted and then assaulted. The other wyches still didnt do anything to the F. Dread, but nothing else happened in that fight. I managed to shoot the SR that had the F. Dread and blow up the LC, by this time it only had 1 missle left. All my blasterborn and my 1 reaver squad shot everything they got into the weakend assault squad that had astorath, left 3 guys remain plus astorath. My 4 man blaster squad shot the DC SR and immobolized it in a direction facing away from everything the other side of the table, so I left it alone after that.

BA

The F. Dread finally kills off the wyche squad and consolidates towards the two wyches and assault squad, in attempt to help them out (My friend has this habit of facing his models in the direction their moving, or to some kind of iconic figure, bad move) He also got his SR and moved it next to my unclaimed objective in an attempt to contest. He also took his DC out and assaulted into the crater killing off the 3 man trueborn squad, he hid his now 3-4man assault squad behind a ruin to claim one of his objectives, astorath grouped up with the H. Guard to abuse the priest that comes with the squad.

Turn 5

DE
I got behind the F. Dread and manage to immobolize 2in away from dual wyche vs assaust squad royal. The other ravager managed to immbolize the SR, and my wyches that were hiding in the ruins, finally move, in the direction of the SR, fleeted and then assaulted (bad thing is, instead of wrecking it to death, I managed to roll 5 glances, and 1 pen, then that 1 pen rolled an explode, I lost 3 wyches and passed my moral test). I managed to use my 4 man blaster squad and reaver squad to kill mostly everyone in the H, Guard except astorath and the free priest.

BA
He charged my reavers but 2 of them managed to live, my 2 wyche squads were still locked in combat, with 1 BA model remaining. His DC went after my 4 man blaster squad.

Game ended on turn 5. I was 3in away from his objective, his 1 model was like 5in so I still claimed it, and my 4 man wyche squad claimed my objective.

If it went to turn 6, his astorath would have killed my reaver squad on my turn and he would have consolidated towards my objective. My 2 wyches would have finally killed of that last model, 1 of the squads would have claimed his 2nd objective, the other squad would have tried to run down and maybe assist the wyches claiming my objective. He claims it would have been a draw if it went to turn 6, we didnt play it out though, thinking back we should have for laughs.

DE 2 - BA 1 Objectives.

From these 2 games we both sat down and talked about his list, we decided only bringing 2 scoring units was really hurting him, so he is changing his list again. We shall see the next time we play.
