i ended up placing 2 bairly so im in and changed the list drastically.
ill be playing regionals in my home store in minneapolis, mn

So how did you guys fare in 2,500 points in a competitive environment? Did you struggle or was it a piece of cake? I am just curious because other armies such as eldar and IG get stronger as the game points go up, and unfortunately it is not so with dark eldar. In the old codex, DE gets slaughtered in high points games (2k and up) but gets excel in lower the points. I was wondering if the new codex was able to change this and that the update was for the better allowing the DE to hold its ground in higher points, and not for the worse.

Looking at the codex from an overview, it seems like the DE were nerfed because dark lances were made more expensive. And across the board everything generally got more expensive. The units were given more options and flexibility but the army as a whole is still frail/ fragile and flimsy. This is all just theoretical, though. I did not take into account the addition of the new T5 units or the beast hordes.

But since we have ard boyz regional qualifiers, it seems like the codex is competitive after all, even in high points games. How were the games like and what were the challenges you encountered? Does it play the same way as it does while playing low points, such as 1500 pts for example? Or did you have to use a different strategy than you normally do?

I have to admit the senrios played out real well for me. I had city scape which reduce the line of sight he had to me and I had cover saves for everything. I started everything in reserve for one senrio. The last senrio was dawn of war and I made him go first which reduced his shooting at me by a round. The FF and NS paid for themselves in all 3 games. I guess what I am trying to say is yes Dark Eldar are tough to play at a higher point total but with a little luck and skill it can be done.
