| Greetings fellow pain connoisseurs! I have had a dark eldar since the release of the previous book (I had always wanted to do them before but the models always put me off) and I built a venom spam list that resulted in the following picture: Whilst it functioned very well as an army it didn't allow for a whole lot of creative juices in relation to the visuals of the army (also because at that time my ability in painting and conversion skills left much to be desired) and I always wanted to do a haemonculus army but it was never viable. With the new book however... I have decided that screw competitiveness I want my pain army damnit! So the point of this army is to be as gory/nasty/disturbing as possible and this (likely very long and slow) log will allow me to demonstrate my progress. The end result will be the full carnival of pain formation so it will be building up each of the individual formations until I have them all in glorious goryness! So until the constituent parts are made and put up on here there will be a series of either pictures to help depict the idea I have or blank parts as I haven't put enough thought into them yet. Expect a lot of influence by games like the Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Evil Within franchises along with any elements of Giger I can realistically integrate. So without further ado the line up for my army. | Here is the first update of models I am working on. My wracks for the scalpel squadron. Made the cuts and lacerations with a scalpel and the heads are the sister of slaughter helmets from the dark elf range. | |

| Very nice. Love the lacerated flesh. I just finished building a unit for my own Scalpel squadron earlier. Mine aren't as unique as yours, but I like the new figures a lot. They're easily among my favourites of the GW plastic range. Looking forward to seeing more progress. | |

| Wow, LOVE the head swap!!! I immediately imagined them whailing and screaming. This is such an awesome idea! The cuts covering the skin work well, too. Cant wait to see them painted. | |

| Awesome idea with the head swap. I had been wondering to myself if anything could be done with those helmets. Now I know the answer | |

| How did the SoS heads go with the squad? Are the masks similiar in shape to the Wrack masks where they just go over? That's really a great look for those Wracks. | |

| for the heads I had to chop off the wrack heads at the neck and then put the SoS heads on with greenstuff to blend to the neck.
And as far as that talos is going to be made, it is being done by commission so I too am looking forward to painting that monstrosity!! | |

| Wow, I love how those Wracks have turned out. THe head swaps just look excellent, and the blood running down them really adds something. Also I must kudos your choice of colours. The pale almost grey skin with green clothing may seem a little neutral, but it really helps the blood stand out more vividly. | |

| *cough* *cough* wow where did all this dust come from?? December was the last post?!? Yikes! I should really do some more on here, I got distracted by some greenskins and it got away from me. Hopefully though I should be back to at least be updating this a little more now. Firstly, I decided to rehash my wracks, the colour scheme just wasn't overly working for me...namely the green. So here is what they look like now! with additional bases that are painted and everything! I will update with better pictures when I get good lighting hopefully after work. There should be more coming too, I have acquired 5 old school Talos for my Corpsethief Claw formation and have something in mind for them which I will be trying to implement once my dremel arrives in the post. | |

| Ok so now for the Venom. This is the first proper attempt I have done to paint something with an airbrush, normally I just use it to basecoat but I thought I would try and do a little shading and tone with it and it is alright I guess. I am going to be doing some weathering on this so it probably won't look a whole lot like this when it's finished but thought I would throw it on here anyway. | |

| So I'm assuming that's just the base coating for the venom? | |
