Hi all,

So I have just been reading the wych entry for wych cult weapons and it says that you can only obtain 3 of them if "the unit no.'s 10 or more models". Does that mean if you have 9 wyches and a succubus for example that you would have 10 models within the unit and thus could take 3 sets of wych weapons? It doesn't specifically say that the models within the unit need to be wyches and within other codices it has been pretty specific in that regard.

This could be wishful thinking but I want to hear what you all think?

That sounds like wishful thinking.

It would be at unit creation, so you would need ten Wyches right of the bat. And if the succubus had left the unit, you would be left with an illegal unit.

I think you need ten actual Wyches in the unit at creation.

yeah you are completely right!

My bad, having a slow evening.

I wish I could sacrifice a wych at the start of the turn and put them into a raider but it clearly isn't happening.

Yeah, I have no idea why GW designed them like that. It was sloppy work.

1 per 3 wyches seems to me it would have been a much better fit, you still end up with 1 at 5, need 6 for 2, and then at 9 you can take 3 whilst still fitting a succubus in the transport.

Still irks me that I can't take my Succubus with bloodbrides in a venom now as well

Don't Start me on Bloodbrides, they are of little to no use and provide nothing new that a wych unit doesn't already have. If you could give them the option to poison their melee weapons/ take other melee weapos or to improve their WS or to each take a haywire grenade at a suitable points cost ofcourse, then they would be so much better!

What would you think of this as an option?

Bloodbrides- 15pts each

WS BS S T W I A LD Sv+
5    4   3 3  1 6 2 9   6+

has all the same wargear as normal, can take melee weapons/ wych weapons on four of them no matter what size & can upgrade one to a syren

Can also take Haywire grenades for 5pts per model.

this would mean you would have a pretty expensive unit to haywire spam all the time that could still be versatile to be used in other ways.
