Need to make skin

I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks to making fake tanned skin, it will be stretched over a box im working on. I figure use leather to start but I don't know where to go from there.

To be honest you won't get a better result than using the real thing. Silence of the Lambs has some great practical pointers on appropriate preparation. You would just need to adapt the pattern from "lady suit" to your box shape.

So you need pigskin, which is not always easy to find. (we eat it.)

I have some pigskin, its beautiful stuff, but not cheap. I could have a word with some leather dealers.

how much do you need and what colour? I may have something suitable, but it will have a high trade value, I warn you.
