I want that white alablaster look - but cant find the nack. Mine have been coming out too dark or totally the wrong tone.

| brilliant thanks. There's a few things there I can try.
I did use rotting flesh as a base for one head - but as it says in that article, it looked too decayed.

| I use the Astronomican Grey as a base for skin on my Dark Eldar. I wash it with black after, then highlight back up with the grey again in a very thin glaze. I put a little white if I want a really bright highlight. You can check out my thread for examples of how it turns out. | |

| Cheers - That Lileath model is about the skin shade mine are at the moment. I've used a grey (cant remember which - its on my desk) and a badab black wash. But I want it brighter/whiter more ghostly look.
I'll try dry brushing i lighter mix on top and see how it goes. I wasn't sure if I was starting with too dark a base.

| Just remember that the lighter you start, the less room you have to highlight. You might want to try painting white and then doing the black wash and see if that's what you're looking for. | |

| For a pretty light skin I'm using
Deneb stone base Ogryn Flesh wash Deneb Stone touch up Mix in increasing amounts of white to deneb to highlight and finish with a pure white very fine highlight.

| Another approach might be mine: Tallarnflesh Wash with watered down leviathan purple Tallarnflesh Tallarnflesh + Space Wolf Grey
The SW-Grey gives the skin a little bluish hue and makes them really pale
