| Ok, its been a long time, and this wont be competitive but I only really play my 11 year old brothers Necron force anyway so the army is more for flavour than anything, a slavers army. Heavy on the anti infantry, with just enough heavy fire power to keep the tanks at bay long enough to secure my cargo.
Archon, Shadowfield, Huskblade, 125 4 Incubi, 80 Venom, 55
5 Trueborn, 55 Venom, 55
10 Kabilite Warriors, 80 Raider, Dark Lance, Splinter Rack, 75
10 Kabilite Warriors, 80 Raider, Dark Lance, Splinter Rack, 75
5 Scourges, 2 Haywire Blasters, 100
Razorwing, Splinter Cannon, 140
Ravager, 3 Dark Lances, 125
Total 1045
So? What do you think? | |

| Seeing that it isn't competitive, I suppose it doesn't really matter much what you take so long as the game is fun for the both of you. But I do have some thoughts.
A Night Scythe (if your brother has one) could be problematic since you have no AA. The Archon doesn't seem to bring much to the table, really. A glaive-wielding Succubus might be a better option and will shave a few points. Likewise, what is the purpose of the vanilla Trueborn? If they are simply a platform for the Venom, then might I suggest that you simply take Warriors or an empty Venom from Fast Attack? Both would shave more points off the list.
That's really all I have to offer. What do you expect to face in your brother's army?

| Yeah, the Archon is more or less because he will expand his army and when he does I want that option. Same with the trueborn (which will take blasters when I have the points).
He does have a Scythe but its a doom Scythe. Its gunna be a problem anyway as well, due to the whole DE suck at AA thing. We just totalled his army up and its 1500 (well, 1400 but he has vanilla wraiths and a couple of other vanilla items that should bump it over) so Ill add those revisions.
What do you suggest for anti air?

Hey, fair enough. - albions-angel wrote:

What do you suggest for anti air? You know, I've heard this from several people and while I understand that we have problems against lists with heavy air, I've never found one or two fliers to be a problem. I think that either a Razorwing or Voidraven would be sufficient to take down a single Scythe. Personally, I like a barebones Voidraven for light AA, but that's just me. The way I see it, even though Necron craft have Living Metal, they're still only AV11. And a Doom Scythe is, what, 175-180 points? An equal trade off if you go the Bomber route. Or if you feel comfortable with that -1S from the Dark Lance (as opposed to the Void Lance), then opt for the Razorwing. My rolls tend to be iffy so I often go with the higher powered bit. Either way, a single metal croissant shouldn't be a problem. Drakh.
