My friends and I are (hopefully) playing later, though I'm not sure whether it will be 1500 or 1750pts.

Anyway, I have a Grotesquerie list for both:

1500pts:

Grotesquerie:
- 4 Grotesques inc. Aberration w/ Scissorhands, Raider w/ Dark Lance
- 4 Grotesques inc. Aberration w/ Scissorhands, Raider w/ Dark Lance
- Haemonculus w/ Panacea Perverted, Scissorhands

CAD:
- Succubus w/ Glaive, Animus Vitae
- 5 Trueborn w/ 4x Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Trueborn w/ 4x Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Scourges w/ 4x Haywire Blaster
- Ravager w/ 3x Dark Lance

1750pts:

Grotesquerie:
- 4 Grotesques inc. Aberration w/ Scissorhands, Raider w/ Dark Lance
- 4 Grotesques inc. Aberration w/ Scissorhands, Raider w/ Dark Lance
- Haemonculus w/ Panacea Perverted, Scissorhands

CAD:
- Archon w/ Agoniser, Shadow Field, Soul Trap, Armour of Misery
- 5 Trueborn w/ 4x Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Trueborn w/ 4x Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster, Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
- 5 Scourges w/ 4x Haywire Blaster
- 10 Reavers w/ 3x Cluster Caltrops, Arena Champion
- Ravager w/ 3x Dark Lance

In both cases the Haemonculus and Archon/Succubus each join one of the Grotesque squads. At the moment I'm thinking that the haemonculus will be my warlord in the first list, and the Archon will be my warlord in the second.

Any thoughts or suggestions on either list?

In my experience i usually turbo boosts the grot raiders as far upfield as possible. So if you kan find the spare pts i would add enc. sails to the 2 grot raiders (maybe replacing the dark lances with disintigrators).

I think i would either have 2 ravagers and 0 scourges or 2 units of scourges and 0 ravagers, but thats just personal preference.

Otherwise the list looks solid, a nice amount af dark light, some poisen and 2 close combat threats wich can't be ignored.

Well, I'd rather not replace the lances - as anti-vehicle is something I often struggle with.

But, I'll see if I can scrape the points from elsewhere (maybe drop the animus).

Sadly, I don't own two of either at the moment. Though, I'm considering replacing the scourges anyway. I don't care about the math - whenever I use them they just don't do anything.

Do you think 5 Warriors with a Blaster in a Raider with a Dark Lance would be a reasonable replacement? Or, would I be leaving myself too short of anti-tank?

In the 1750 pts list you could drop a single reaver for the Sails. The animus vitae is nice with the grots +1 to pfp really makes them shine!

What kind af mech do you usually meet ? If it's av 10 or 11 in the rear, the grots will rip through it with their plentyfull str 5 attacks and the aberations rending attacks.

I would keep the scourges rather then adding a kabalites w/blaster in a raider. I personally have had great effects with the scourges, consistently dropping 3 hull pts a turn.

I wish mine worked like that.

In the last 3 games, my scourges have stripped a combined total of 1 hull point.

Personally from the 1750 list I would drop the armour from the archon, it isn't really serving a purpose with the shadow field in play and the grots to tank wounds, as for the fear with ATSKNF on most armies is pretty pointless in most cases. As hejle said you should really drop a reaver, there's no point going over a multiple of 3 when you're point starved elsewhere. For the grot raiders I would advise ench sails as the base and DL only if you have spare points. I wouldn't rely on my melee delivery system hanging around to provide anti-tank later on, you should be flating them out first turn so the likely hood of getting shots off is fairly low. Work on the basis they will be gunned down and list build with that in mind.

I find scourges are a great unit for keeping your opponents expensive vehicles afraid, a unit that strips a landraider in a single turn is nothing to turn a blind eye to.

Yeah, I just wanted to give him an artefact and a lot of other people seem to really like the Armour so I thought I'd see what the fuss was about. I'm fine dropping it.

I'll give them another go then, and see if they can actually kill a vehicle in my next game.
