Finish the blasterborn I spectacularly failed with last month and perhaps try to paint 3 Blood Angel Terminators...

Assemble and prime a Cerastus Knight-Acheron

Finish Urien Rakarth, 10 Warriors, 1 Raider, 1 Venom

EDIT: Hang it, let's add in my new Storm Raven too, to at least 50% finished.

Eldar Fire Dragon Exarch and hopefully two Eldar Hornets.

As you all know, I am the most lethargic, slowest painter going. However some friends and I have started one of those 'Tale of' blogs with the idea of doing 200pts fantasy or 150pts 40k. Hopefully this will help me.

This month I am painting 5 Scourges.

Never got round to making vows in advance before, but now seems a good time to give it a try. I'll go for 1 Voidraven Bomber (Christmas present from my wife ), 3 converted wracks and 3 converted beastmasters.

Assemble 10 Wracks and paint half.

Derp...I'll see if I can't resize the image sometime later, but proof that I'm working on my monthly vow.

Knights:
-Finish painting Knight Errant from last month
-Assemble and paint Knight Castigator

Eldar:
-Paint a Spiritseer
-Paint a test Guardian

I'm almost done with the Errant from last month, and will be painting Eldar for the Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge this year. I managed to paint around 6,000pts of 30K World Eaters last month and hope to have similar results with my CWE

And plans. That bastion is on a foot square base board. Originally I'd planned about 7 or 8 to slot into pre-built holes of the board in my garage.

The plans have now changed, and I'm just going to construct a modular board using 24 of those type of tiles. So now I've got an order to the terrain company, plus a trip to the DIY store planned, as if painting an 1850 pts blog wars army by June wasn't enough for me!

On the plus side - urien is now finished - I'll do a pic tomorrow.
Venom is getting really close too, just a few bits on the gunner and the pilot left to do.

Hoping to finish off the base tomorrow night so that I can field it in a game on Thu (I have a self-imposed rule that I won't field models that aren't painted and based).  Not that I have high hopes for it on the table, but it is a beautiful model...

Now to crack on with the infantry I vowed...

This month has been absolutely and incredibly awful and simultaneously been pretty good.

First the awful.

I left my True Kin in my carry case on the bus by accident a week or so ago, just after building it all so I could play a game. Despite much searching it has not turned up

This has left me with nothing but a bits box of dark eldar bit left and thus I am unlikely to return to the True Kin for a long time. Both due to emotional and financial investment required.


And now the good news.

My girlfriend has previously never bought me models as she thinks I spend enough anyway. But in an amazing attempt to cheer me up she copied my wishlist down that is tacked above my hobby desk and literally bought the most expensive thing on there for me.

Which was a Cerastus Castigator.


This went a long long way to cheering me up.

I built it last night (and glued the crap out of myself in the process) and will put pictures up tonight.

In the other part of my blog I have nearly finished my terminators but motivation was lacking before the Knight appeared. Still hoping to get them done but I'm still feeling pretty mopey on the hobby front.


Anyway, sorry for the long post here, I just felt the need to vent and mourn publically.

Mate that's awful - I honestly don't know how I'd react if I did something like that - you may have noticed how I fumed when I cocked up the varnish job a while back, so I think you deserve to be allowed to mope about for a bit!

@Dragontree I am so sorry to hear about your Dark Eldar. Sadly, the cases we store our miniatures in look like they hold things that are valuable to non-gamers. I can only imagine what a non-gamer thinks as they open the case and find plastic toy soldiers. Do you have the stomach to collect the army again?

Thank you so much. I can honestly say that you are in for a treat with the Castigator. I'm 1/3 of the way done painting mine and having a blast

I am not even going to get close to picking up a paint brush this month due to work... Fail...

@ Dragontree: Very sorry to hear that, went through the same thing, forgot my army case on the train.
It was terrible and i was very close to throwing the rest of my stuff away, but i decided to be a good archon and use the pain to resurrect my army and the later models look even better.
It's 4 months ago and still hurts sometimes, but i'm glad i stayed with 40k and Dark Eldar.
