What's better, 2 Raiders or a Reaver squad?

Ok, so my current 1850 list looks a bit like this:

Archon - Agoniser, blast pistol, shadowfield, webway portal
Urien Rakarth (special character required for the tournie I'm going to enter)

Grotesques - 3 with an aberration in a dark lance raider

10 warriors in raider with dark lance and splinter racks
10 warriors in raider with dark lance and splinter racks
5 warriors with blaster in venom with dual cannons
5 warriors with blaster in venom with dual cannons

Raider with dark lance and splinter racks
Raider with dark lance and splinter racks
Razorwing with dark lances
5 Scourges with 4 haywire blasters
5 Scourges with 4 heat lances

2 Dark lance ravagers.

So my question is this - currently I use the dark lance ravagers as backup transports for my gunboats, and mobile lance platforms.

I'm contemplating swapping them out for half a dozen reavers with a pair of caltrops and possibly a pair of blasters (or one heat lance and upgrade the splinter rifles on the razorwing to a cannon)

Given what I've got in the list, and how useful you think it's likely to be (I have no idea what I'll be facing at the tournament) would you take the reavers or the raiders?

Please refrain from suggesting any other significant changes to the list as I'm on the clock for painting this - I can probably swap painting 2 raiders for 6 reavers as I've not done the raiders yet but any other drastic changes could be difficult.

As I said, backup transports for the gunboat squads - my opponent shoots the gunboat down, the squad embarks on the empty raider and doesn't lose shooting efficiency

I would recommend swap the raiders out for blaster reavers. They are more resilient and offer more tactical options than empty/backup raiders.

Out of those alternatives I would choose 6 reavers with 2 cc and 3bl, but I would recommend another 5 warriors in a Venom with blaster. That way you could play it as a CAD.

With 2 HQ choices and 4 troops, I can double double CAD (and probably would) when needing to play competitive

I'd take the Reavers with Blasters for their flexibility.
