| This thread will be for my kitbashing ideas/thoughts, etc. After seeing the awesome new wracks, see below, but being unimpressed with their static posses, I wanted to look for alternative models to kitbash with. Xelkireth's disclaimer: Remember that in a tournament setting, your models must be at a minimum 50% Citadel model parts. Now, for the menagerie! Some converted wracks I found on Google searching: Wracks are similar to GW's Acro-Flaggellents. Kitbashed Flaggellents: Wracks are also similar to GW's Empire Flagellants Warband: And GW's Vampire Counts Crypt Ghouls: From Privateer Press we got Cephalyx Slave & Drudge Mind Slavers: And Cephalyx Overlords: Let the kitbashing commence! | |

| Well, I'd say though that the Cephalyx overords are more heamyes than wracks, but oh well. And indeed, the ghouls and flagellants are great models to base wrack conversions on. Pu those masked wych heads on them and add some claws and stuff to their hands. | |

| I think their back-mounted surgical type instruments would work for either. | |

| This was my first look at the new Wracks! Thanks for posting. I have a few of the Privateer Press models, that I was going to mix in with the old grotesques, but I am definately likeing the look of the the kitbashed wracks! I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. | |

| I'm in the same boat as Archon. First view of the new models. Thanks for the look. The details of the models are sharp but as you stated the poses are static. I think I'm OK with that. I'm curious to see what the purchase damage will be. Hopefully they'll pack them in groups of five or more rather than threes. | |

| Excellent, well thought out and researched post. It will be interesting to see what others in the community do with the new Wracks. As much as they have been well recieved here, the mainstream forums have attacked their lack of pose. Although a fair point I feel they lived up to the expectation of mine, they needed something to redo in plastic in 8 years time after all.
I started to kitbash my own out of flagellants and ghouls before abandoning the project after dropping the Wracks from my list. I may look at buying some of the new ones.

I personally am not doing a Coven list. I'm working on a Kabalite heavy allied Wych list. I did however, want to share some stuff I've seen on the interwebs that would help inspire fellow Dark Eldar hobbyists.

| Even though these aren't rumored to be plastic, I'm not so sure I'm worried about the static poses anymore. These should be in the new Finecast resin so that allows for a bit easier conversion work (just more safety precautions because of resin dust). So you can give a little extra flair to any of the models.
Beyond that, those are all some rather nice conversions, I'm a proponent of the crypt ghouls because they are such nice models, some nice bladed hands take care of the absurdly large hands, just not sure how to swap on weapons like the liquifiers.

Please tell me you're not using their heads. I really hate the new daemonettes. They're so freaking ugly.

| I noticed that there's some work from Hortwerth above. If you don't know the name then check out his album here: http://picasaweb.google.com/hortwerth Let's hope he's giving DE the same treatment that he gave the Eldar! | |

| I started converting a wrack out of a mantic zombie but they are just a little too small for my liking. Im going to get proper wracks and convert 4 grotesques out of plastic rat ogres and talos/wrack/other bitz | |

| Don't have pictures at the moment, but I made Wracks from Ghouls, Flagellants and some greenstuff. Basically I hut off the Flagellants' legs and stck the top half of the Ghouls on them (had to cut off the bit the legs are attached to to make it fit). Then I greenstuffed some masks on them and added some extra arms, blades and pieces of plastic pipe in place of an arm for the liquifiers (not thta happy how that turned out, but didn't have anything else suitable). | |

Please tell me you're not using their heads. I really hate the new daemonettes. They're so freaking ugly. Some of them are really bad, I am thinking that once I figure out the arm situation i will work on the head one. Probably the helmeted wych/reaver heads to fit with the reast of my girls.

| Yes... Yes, indeed (evil grin) Also "Strangers" from The Dark City (movie, not this board) are kinda like Coven: Also worth (I guess?) try are "Brazil" and "City of Lost Children". Yes... people with telescopes in eyesockets. These are NOT movies for everyone, but I've enjoyed them. I'm quite surprised noone mentioned fellow Brood Brothers yet. Not best picture but there are loads of "Genestealer cult" models photos, both GW made (good) and conversions (better). | |

| Lil Loser, how did you do your Haemonculus? He looks very cool. I find the face and the arms to be especially interesting, as GW doesn't produce enough laughing/smirking faces, and the open hands with outstretched fingers look very characterful. | |
