Skimmers don't mishap when they deepstrike into units. They move to not be on them like drop pods. This is pretty settled.

Settled according to whom? I've never seen a major tournament FAQ rule it that way, in fact here in the states the ITC and NOVA FAQs both specifically say that skimmers mishap normally if they scatter onto units.

Adding to this, the ITC and NOVA FAQs are what most tournaments in the UK are at least based on too. Noone I've ever met would let me use a skimmer like a droppod.

You can take a portal or just aether sails and flat out. The squads aren't expensive and delete every Enemy Marine equivalent squad they touch. And you can jink and still shoot next time.

With the portal you also get them where you need them the most. Long fangs bothering you? Not anymore. Stern guard? What Stern guard. And he HAS TO dedicate firepower to the squad or you will just keep going.

Oh, of course you take night shields...
