| Hey guys, I have a bit of a high stakes tournament coming up (guys from Frontline are coming over, 40+ people, etc.) and I want a list that is competitive but stays true to my favorite style of play, namely the old gunboat style. Here's what I have so far as a list using realspace raiders detachment:
Archon w/Helm of Spite and Shadow Field
4x 10 Kabalite warriors w/ Blaster, Syrabite with Haywire gernades, and a Raider w/ splinter racks and nightshields
2x Razorwing jetfighter w/ dark lances, splinter cannon, night shield
6 reaver jetbikes w/ 2 cluster caltrops
5 Scourages w/ 4 haywire blasters
2x Venoms w/ splinter cannons
Ravager with Dark Lances and Night Shields
Thank you for any critiques that you might have.

| I would drop those extra transports just to get obsec and rerolls to strategic table. - Quote :

Why no gun( or at least HWG)? BS 7 is great. the other Venoms is his? - Quote :

60pts for blasters that don't benefit from racks. I would also lose one model to fit Archon in here. - Quote :

I like Reavers but not other choises. Razorwing might be good but those Scourges just die too easy. Might work with meltas and WWP but see no real use for them in tournaments. Unless you get obsec to those empty Venoms they are not good enough. In some games they are dead weight. With Obsec they are much more annoying to opponent as they can block very well. Btw is that Rider a Ravager?

| Yeah, that should be a Ravager. Thanks for the catch. - Quote :

It was a points issue, although I could move stuff around for haywire gernades. I had an idea where I'd use a webway portal to deep strike him and a Venom and blow away something, but it ended up not being points efficient in my mind in the end. - Quote :

Will do, that'll fit in the points for the guns and stuff for the Archon. I usually drop a warrior to fit in the Archon in my other lists, so I should stick to that trend. - Quote :

Looking at the ITC rules I don't see anywhere where double cad is allowed. The idea behind the Scourages was to deep strike them near a knight and haywire it and then just generally be a thorn in people's side. The Razorwings are there for anti-air. Thanks for the critique. Edit: Double CAD isn't allowed, but CAD and Realspace Raiders might be an interesting idea...

| I would drop the archon altogether, take a Lamean, upgrade a warrior to a syrabrite, and have free points. | |

I would do that, but the tournament FAQ doesn't allow for it.

| Compared to most ITC tournaments those restrictions seem to be very odd? | |

| I'm totally wrong in that regard and I misread the rules, you can in fact do that. It seems odd to me though to have a really fragile warlord, despite the cost savings (even by Dark Eldar standards). | |

This is very interesting I had not realized that tournament scenes have allowed DE to take court of the Archon without an Archon, I have not been playing this way but may start from now on. Is this the case with most tournaments or just ITC?

| The court counts as an HQ slot by itself apparently, but it's when the Archon is present then it doesn't take up the slot. There's nothing in the book saying that you can't take the Court without the Archon. | |

| This does make sense and also in the book itself now I have looked at it from a different perspective, not sure what to do with those extra points now. I have grown quite attached to my Archon bullet Shield but I could get something probably just as hard to kill but with more damage to send back if I don't take one. | |
