Rumor-Adeptus Mechanicum in Commoragh

Found rumors in the internet about how the Golden Throne is struggling to work and how the Adeptus Mechanicum are trying to find solutions for that. One army send out by them appearantly is fighting Harlequins near the webway entrances of the galaxy, with the intent to enter Commoragh. This is kind of confusing to me though. First of all, how do they even have all this knowledge about the Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Commoragh etc? This is very impressive to me, especially considering what kind of chaotic beraucracy and knowledge keeping they have. And secondly, how is visiting Commoragh going to help to fix the golden throne? Is it that both the Emperor and the Dark Eldar thirst for souls and keep themselves alive by devouring them and that the Dark Eldar maybe have the key to unlock immortality through pain for the Emperor? Or is it just a rumor after all? There is definitely something stated in the Adeptus Mechanicum Codex, which makes me curious. Also there is a lot of other theory crafting that can be made and also stuff for awesome novels.

This has been mentioned already here somewhere. If I remember correctly it was not Ad Mech, but a radical part of the Inquisition who are willing to utilize xeno and demonic weapons to get to their goals (but im no expert in lesser race lore).

And considering that the Inquisition can basically just do whatever they please anyway, they don't care much about the whole bureaucracy thing.


Initially I asked myself as well what they want to do in Commoragh and what kind of deal a powerful Archon like Vect himself would possibly agree to. Then it struck me, that they don't care about the Kabals at all.

Ask yourself, who is it that can basically bring back everybody back to live?

The Haemonculi of course, but to bring a host back to life he has to be a victim to the thirst-for-pain curse, which the Emperor is not. Also, it was specifically mentioned in the new AdMech Codex that it was an army of themselves which is trying to get into the webway, so the Inquisition is not involved.

Sure, but isn't is the soul of psykers which sustains him? If you look at it this way, he's not completely different to DE. After all, for DE pain is just a means to consume the soul of others.

Also, he's not truely dead. So, he's not like an Archon who died from a big explosion and is completely recreated just from a hand in a tube.

I don't think a true master Haemonculus would have big issues with this.
Sure, the price would be high and it would probably cost millions of souls. Also, let's not forget that the Haemonculus will do such an act only for a certain price as well.

The Golden Throne is breaking beyond the ability of the Ad Mech to repair so many expeditions were launched to look for a fix. One of the expeditions was lead by the Xanthites, a group of inquisitors with no qualms about using warp based weapons so would have little to no trouble justifying using xenos ones. They met with haemonculi and reached an undisclosed deal.

If any one could fix the golden throne or heal the Emperor it would be haemonculi, and with the Khaine's gate issue there is a lot the haemonculi may want.

Mad theory i just thought of. What if they are looking for the panacea? it is an STC with immense curing properties that lady malys yoinked from a forge world. Might be part of the solution they are looking for? (I say part, as the panacea may only cure diseases and such. healing properties? maybe not).

In either the Cult Mechanicus or Skitarii Codex (don't remember which one) it is mentioned that there are numerous sub-factions with varying interest in the xeno races.

One of those is specialised in investigating the Eldar and their technologies and another is a radical group that even uses and experiments on xeno technology (akin to the Ordo Xenos of the Inquisition). And just like the Ordo Xenos they are treated as heretics or are at least shunned by their colleagues.

Also don't underestimate the Adeptus Mechanicus. They are literally the (waaaay less organised) equivalent of the Black Library but rather than specialising in knowledge about the warp/daemons they just gather ALL knowledge they can get their hands on. And since they are always leading expeditions across the galaxy it wouldn't surprise me if they were leading an army towards a webway entry. If they just stumbled upon it or if they dug up some info from their archives is equally likely.
