| Unless you speak about multiple Wraithknights or multiple packs of Talosi kitted out for hardcore melee, mass bikers cookie-cutter vanilla marine lists can neutralize most threats by applying their solid firepower, and then... then they're t5 3+ with hit-and-run, and there is always a Chapter master with an Imprevious Shield of Social Justice which makes him a chore to deal with.

| I'm kind of... horrified with the turn this has taken. Look, it's pretty simple. The newer codices are just too strong for me. Dark Eldar being a difficult army to play (or 40K 'on hard mode', as people like to say) is nothing new. We knew that going in and we still managed to have a good time. Now, for me at least, it's just impossible. The models I've been collecting these past years can't match up, so: 1. In order to even have a chance at having a fun game, I would have to paint up so many more models that it would practically amount to painting up a whole new army. 2. If I'm going to do that, I might as well just paint a whole new different army, one that doesn't lead to endless frustration. 3. I have other things to do. Don't tell me that I'm complaining without offering any solutions. I am offering a solution. What do you do when you're spending your free time doing something that you don't enjoy? Answer: stop doing it! That's it. No need for anger, no hatred for GW, and especially no room for hate language. We're all clever, sophisticated, brilliant 21st century people here, and we're well past that. | |

| I'm not talking about you Agatha when I talked about whining and offering no solutions. I'm just sick of the guys spamming the threads with "the sky is falling!". You drew consequences. It's actually sad to lose you, but that's the dark city. Maybe your meta is just filled with Mr and Mrs super cheese. I'd stop playing too I guess. | |

| Sorry mate, but look around. There's people having good success with DE. All I can say is that your gaming group seems to be a bunch of unrelenting powergamers and I have no time for that. The game is less fun when it's a game of "who's dice roll better". | |

| One of the obvious solutions (as demonstrated) is calling everyone with an effective and well thought out army "powergamer" and any combination that might hurt you "super cheese" while sitting comfortable on the CTC/WWP DA throne of moral superiority. | |

This is the same conclusion I've come to sadly. After a long, long time playing 40k I've Finally "sold out" and just started playing space marines, mainly because I have tons laying around. I've limited myself to scout units though, usually in transports - which play almost exactly like dark kin MSU in venoms. Except of course... better, cheaper, and with a huuuuge list of effective supporting options and formations. I did not realize however that scouts would be the "du jour" army after craftworlders and would actually be winning tournaments. I have yet to be groaned at over it though, probably because I haven't gone full fromage. I use scout bikes for fast attack instead of the many, more effective alternatives (3 land speeders, each sporting 2 twin linked multi meltas for 240 points as an example). I'm trying not to give GW anymore money, so we'll see how that goes. I did have to ebay a few land speeder storms though. At least marines are incredibly easy to paint.

| I am actually seriously considering converting all my wyches into harlequins and getting some death jesters to go ham with. They just seem so much more stronger with an outside CC save, the ability to screw around with every unit with lower I while avoiding being utterly cheesy like CraftSingles Eldar. Besides, their paint scheme just fills me with mental images of fabulous JoJo pics in outrageous poses. | |

Thanks for agreeing with me! But my point was, 'don't be racist'. All I said was that I quit 40K (for now), and suddenly people are all 'Yeah! Games Workshop is the devil! And by the way, *racist slur*!' Where does that even come from? It's a bit like having a drunk Mel Gibson agree with you... makes you uncomfortable. I like GW models and I intend to buy a lot more of them, I wish them all well and hope they make plenty of money so that they can send their kids to school and buy themselves something nice for Christmas. I'm just going to buy the models I like and paint them at my own pace, and if some day they can be used in a game, great, and if not, fine. There are plenty of other things that I can do with my time.

| It's painful to imagine myself abandoning my beautiful evil space elves, but I can understand your reasoning, Agatha.
Perhaps you can find a better group to play with?

| The vast majority of posts and users in this thread have been good, useful, and thought out. Unfortunately there have been some that were not. The most grievous posts and users have been removed. In the future I am asking everyone to remember not to feed the trolls and either hit the report button or PM a staff member directly if a post is out of hand. We will handle it from there.
Thank you and have a good day.
