| Hi, I am new to 40k but have played a bit of fantasy before so I do understand the basics. However I am currently building a dark eldar army and am adding to it piece by piece as I try to get my head around all the rules that didnt exist in fantasy. I would greatly appreciate advice on what my next step should be to add to this army at its current size. So far I have (either made up or waiting to be assembled)... Archon 20 kabalite warriors 10 wyches 5 Scourges 6 Trueborn 3 Reaver Jet bikes 1 Raider 1 Venom I realise I probably need more transport but other than that I am considering getting Talos (incidently what is the benefit in having cronos instead?) and would love some incubi. Like I said Im new to this so go easy on me Any advice appreciated. In the mean time I will go back to browsing the forum and see what I come aross. Thanks in advance | |

| First off: welcome! It's looking good so far.
First: give the true born 4 Blaster. Second: most dark Eldar players can't seem to find a good usage for witches. It's.... Challenging.
If you want those monster talos and co, get two and an Haemonculus for a dark artisan formation. In the coven book, all three join together to a super unit.

| Many people like Grotesques for melee threat as they are far tougher and hit far harder than Wyches. | |

| either grotesque teamed with a succubus with archite glaive, or a squad of incubi. I tend to prefer the grotesque squad. | |

| If you ever want more warriors or heavens forbid, wyches, just purchase more vehicles. They come with like 4 models and a respectable amount of guns. Venoms are perfect for this. | |

| I say more Reavers. Hard to go wrong when a RSR gives you up to 6 FA slots. A Ravager may be a good investment too. That will give you 3 Dark Lance shots for vehicles and MCs, or 9 Disintegrator Cannon shots for heavy infantry.
With your Wyches and Reavers, and whatever else you invest in, always have 2 or more units charge an enemy unit. Make him choose which unit to Overwatch. With your Wyches, use regular attacks on the charge, but have them use their Plasma Grenades in subsequent rounds. With the Reavers, Hammer of Wrath is where it's at. Take Cluster Caltrops, they are so worth it! Get in, and either use Hit & Run if you can get into cover, or use it during your opponent's assault phase so you are free to charge right back in. This works best if you have Wyches tarpitting the enemy unit.

| Thankyou What do people tend to equip their scourges with btw ? I can see them being good for killing vehicles? Shame you only seem to get one of each weapon in the box I am thinking I may make up the different weapons and use a magnetized marker to show which weapon they are carrying. Is this kind of thing allowed if you play in a store ? I will only really play with one other person for now while we are learning. | |

| I prefer to deploy one more 5-men squad of kabalites and a venom insted trueborn with four blaster. I had found that blasterborn are magnetic to enemy fire.
I often choose incubus instead witches if a wanna go to meleetown.
