| So for my first post on here i thought i would get some advice on my army list
The current list is as follows HQ Archon with Splinter pistol, Agoniser, Haywire Grenades, Combat Drugs, Shadowfield, Webway Portal - 160pts 3 Sslyth - 105pts Raider with Dark Lance, Flickerfield - 70pts
TROOPS 2 x 10 warriors with Blaster, Splinter Cannon, Sybarite with Blast Pistol, Power Weapon - 300pts 2 x Raiders With Dark Lance, Flickerfield - 140pts 5 Wyches with Shardnet and Impaler, Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix - 80pts 5 Wyches with Hydra Gauntlets, Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix with Blast Pistol, Agoniser - 115pts Venom with Splinter Cannon - 65pts
FAST ATTACK 3 Reavers with Heat Lance, Arena champion with Venom Blade - 93pts
HEAVY SUPPORT Cronos Parasite Engine with Spirit Probe, Spirit Vortex - 110pts
TOTAL - 1248pts
My gaming group is starting a 1500pt Campaign after christmas so would like some advice on how to spend the extra 250pts. The armies i will most likely face are Black Templars, Grey Knights, Dark Angels, Deamons, Eldar and Sisters of Battle....possibly Imperial Guard aswell!!!
I have had some pick up games with this list. A Capture and Control against the Black Templars which was a draw, and an annihalation against the Grey Knights which was a loss (6 kill points to 9).
Any advice/critique (good and bad) most welcome

| Hate to be a rules lawyer, but the court of the Archon has to have 1+ of each of the court models.(Sslyth, Medusae, the poisoner hottie, and the Gollum looking guy) It would be AWESOME if you could just take Sslyth for a bodyguard! Otherwise you're off to a good start. Can you rework it for us with a legal court? | |

| I would drop the arena champion unless you plan on assaulting things with them which would be putting them to wast. | |

| Agreeing with all the above, and I'll add in that running a single WWP is pretty ballsy as it's not too difficult for a semi-competent army to kill one Raider and the passengers inside or to block off the portal. I'll add even further that I'm neutral on using an Archon as a portal dropper - he should be trying to get into assault asap, not dorking around with portals and standing in the open kinda smiling and nodding as he opens one. He should be assaulting and killing things. | |

| Yea if your running with WWP I highly suggest 2 so you can have everything deployed right. It also makes it harder for your opponent to surround them. | |

| I'll be running a 2k point list with 4 of them on Friday, just to piss off my opponent. | |

As was said before, you can't take 3 Sslyth on their own. Either add a Lhamean, Medusa and Ur-Ghul or drop the Sslyth. I'd tend towards the latter. - POwell0 wrote:
- Raider with Dark Lance, Flickerfield - 70pts
TROOPS 2 x 10 warriors with Blaster, Splinter Cannon, Sybarite with Blast Pistol, Power Weapon - 300pts I'd drop the Sybarite and 5 warriors with SC, but the the Sybarite should definitely go. The Ld upgrade is not very important and the Blast pistol is to short ranged, to be of good use. - POwell0 wrote:

5 Wyches with Shardnet and Impaler, Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix - 80pts 5 Wyches with Hydra Gauntlets, Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix with Blast Pistol, Agoniser - 115pts
I'd drop the Blast Pistol again, add more Wyches and an agoniser to the first squad, as it is the number one MEQ killer. - POwell0 wrote:
- Venom with Splinter Cannon - 65pts
FAST ATTACK 3 Reavers with Heat Lance, Arena champion with Venom Blade - 93pts Just drop the champion. 3 Jetbikes just won't do good in assault. - POwell0 wrote:

My gaming group is starting a 1500pt Campaign after christmas so would like some advice on how to spend the extra 250pts. I recomend ravagers. Best would be two. - POwell0 wrote:

All in all I'd recomend to define the single squads purpose more clearly. Your wariors should never be within a distance of 6" to any enemy units, so they don't need Blast pistols. The wyches should be close, but will probably be fleeting or fighting in cc more than shooting. Your reavers should be dedicated to tank hunting, so no CC upgrade here. And more important, why do you include a WWP? If I've counted correctly, you just have 5 Wyches and 1 Cronos, that need it, even more so CC units benefit much more from pain tokens, than shooters, so 2x5 Wyches don't need a cronos. If everything works normal, you'll have much more pain tokens, than you might need. I'd use a list that looks more like that: HQ: Archon with Splinter pistol, Agoniser, Combat Drugs, Shadowfield - 120pts 2x Haemonculus with Liquifier, Venomblade, WWP - 200pts Troops: 2x5 Warriors with Blaster - 120pts <--Haemis start here, drop off the portal and join the Wyches. 2x Raider with Dark Lance, Flickerfield - 140pts 2x10 Wyches with HWG, 2xShardnet & Impaler, Hekatrix with Agoniser, PGL - 360pts <-- come from the portal Fast Attack: 3 Reavers with Heatlance - 78pts <-- come from the portal Heavy Support: Cronos with Spirit Vortex - 100pts <-- comes from the portal Talos with Chain-flails, additional CC-weapon, TL Haywire Blaster - 130pts <-- comes from the portal _______________ 1248pts I think it's not perfect, but it incorporates all units in your list.

| A single webway Portal with 3 units (Wyches, Reavers and Cronos) has worked well for me in both battles thus far. My mistake on the court, I do have the others on order and some Lhameans under conversion at the moment.
To be honest am not sold on the the haemonculus so far have seen them used and they just died as soon as they were shot at.

| Ok, just to make this clear. Rule number one: If it works for you and if you like it, play it.
It's just that WWPs are very expensive pieces of wargear, so normaly I try to get the maximum out of them.

| Am beginning to think that the Dark Eldar may not be for me now. Ive read through some other lists and topics on here and What i thought was an fairly ok list now seems a bit pants tbh. The things that dont appeal to me seem to be the best things in the codex ie Heamonculus, Trueborn etc. | |

| What are the things that appeal to you?
There are an exceedingly small number of things in our codex that are just flat out bad.
As long as you're not looking to play at a serious competitive level, you can build a list with a lot of differences from the norm and still do quite well.

| Well the 'norm' to me would be big squads of warriors backed up by smaller wych units which support each other as and when followed up by more specialist CC and support units/AT units which is what I based my list around.
I really dont play at a competitive level and dont ever want to again. Tournaments and the like can bring out the worst in people i found out to my dismay. I just play with friends now. Dont get me wrong i still want to win but i want to have fun doing it

| If you want to, you could absolutely run a footdar list, (I was chatting with a buddy a few hours ago, and positted a list with 60 Kabalites and 45 Wyches as your 6 troops. He was afraid) All that we are trying to say ( I think, I know I have been) is that You have to play DE fairly cut-throat or you'll get plastered 9 times out of ten. If you like Incubi, take the crap outta them, but if you take too many, they'll get themselves into trouble by being too killy, If you like Razorwings, take 'em, I personally think they are amazing because they can saturate the enemy with blasts to thin a horde, then DL tanks on turns 2+
They may not be "best" but if you love them, you'll make them work.
