The un-identical twins Diaval and Sinyxl Khaylart were true born into the Kabal of the Black Heart to one of Vect’s assassins. Given the Eldar breeding difficulty the twins were seen as a good omen by Vect and he allowed them to live despite their illegitimacy and their mother, Sindel Khaylart not having his permission. The dark twins, as they were known grew aware of the corruption and nepotism and grew a disdain towards Vect and turned their backs on the Kabal of the Black Heart earning Sindel and Vect’s ire. They were hunted ruthlessly and would have died had it not been for the Solitaire Zither who happened to be travelling and found the children. The twins looked out for each other and following their rescue by the Solitaire survived the cut-throat streets of Low Commorragh.
As maturity approached the twins became hellions, they survived through hustling, killing and working as mercenaries, always dreaming of a better future. The eldest of the twins, Diaval developed a keen wit, a silver tongue and became gifted marksman while his sister was better at weeding out secrets, Machiavellian machinations and the silent kill. Diaval in particular was a visionary wishing to create a haven for him and his sister and work towards unifying the Eldar. The two forged a reputation as formidable mercenaries and bounty hunters, strengthened by the fact that they kept their word. As they grew up others on the streets came to them for protection, work or simply hoping their reputation would rub off on them.
Then came a dysjunction. Diaval and Sinyxl gathered the desperate and fearful protecting them as they fought to survive. The wounded and forgotten from other kabals also followed the dark twins. The twins did not ask anything in return and when the dysjunction ended they gave their followers a choice: leave and return to your old lives or stay under the dark twin’s leadership. Those who stayed followed the twins to Shin-Draconious, a run down, squalid district of Low Commorragh. Upon arrival it was a cesspool filled with shanty towns inhabited by the run off of Commorragh's society. Diaval and Sinyxl purged Shin-Draconious and levelled the district in order to rebuild in an orgy of blood and flames. The Kabal of Blissful Murder was born.
The twins were barely archons and the first few years were not kind to the new kabal. Initially having to salvage and go on small raids the archons worked hard with little to show many of their kabal left but that was a short lived fashion as the dark twins were absolutely merciless with those who defected. But years of iron fisted rule and hard work paid off and Diaval and Sinyxl prospered. They introduced laws into Shin-Draconious and the kabal flourished. Sinyxl then formed the Cult of Decadent Slaughter and took the mantle of Archite. It was at this point from the vast winnowing of the dysjunction the Kabal of Blissful Murder was acknowledged. Now it is known for large scale slave raids, although they are known for never enslaving Eldar and having an abnormally stable district of loyal almost incorruptible members……almost but every so often the lure of fortune makes one forget the horrifying tortures the twins inflict on those who betray them. The twins themselves are seen as somewhat of a mystery both are considered extremely beautiful even by Eldar standards and have a sense of honour, it is even rumoured that they can be trusted to keep their word despite their status. The twins have a connection that both fascinates and disturbs; when the Kabal of the Wraithkind kidnapped and tortured Diaval in the hopes he would turn on his sister it is said Sinyxl felt her brother’s pain and used it to find him. She tortured and killed her brother’s captors after freeing Diaval he hunted down the archon’s mistress who was pregnant with his heir and killed their unborn child. The message was clear and although a war briefly ensued, nobody has targeted a single twin.
The Kabal of Blissful Murder and the Cult of Decadent Slaughter are known to have a weakness for the baroque and adore lavish styles and works of art. Naturally this love of culture and beauty means that Harlequins are more than welcome in Shin-Draconious and very often invited. So popular are the Harlequins plays that the twins built a public theatre for the performances and when it is not used by Harlequins it is used for duels, slave fights and slaughter fairs. They are also extremely protective of their followers and strict laws mean that to anyone under the twins protection Shin-Draconious is the most beautiful and safest place in Commorragh. The coven of the Hex was originally attracted as the Master Haemonculus Lady Valkira, a pariah even amongst her fellows, considered the twins her muse and has since moving shown some of her masterpieces and it is rumoured she now works on a piece that was inspired by the twins punishment for traitors but refuses to speak of it. The dark twins also take a great interest in the Parched, having these retched souls work in their factories and slowly redeem themselves. It is unclear whether this is out of generosity or whether the twins see the Parched as a cheap form of labour. Lazaritch the Withered is one such follower who has grabbed this new lease of life with both hands opting to become a Scourge of the Dark Gemini, the umbrella organisation governed by the twins that does not include the Kabal of Blissful Murder or the Cult of Decadent Slaughter, after being left physically, mentally and spiritually scarred by spending years as a Parched Lazaritch submitted himself to the Haemonculus of the Hex and began the agonising process of becoming a scourge. The twins are also known for their success in raiding, Xenellya, Diaval’s lover and a friend of the twins since they were children begging for scraps, oversees the Dark Gemini’s slave trading activities. Of all the wonders in the dark twins possession one of the most impressive is Skinrender; Skinrender is a Night Crawler (Nox venator) a sub-species of Tyranid that somehow broke away from the Hive Mind and make colonies and forming a symbiosis with their environment as well as cannibalizing their Tyranid cousins. Skinrender was taken by Sinyxl after he was exiled from his colony post-mating flight to wonder the stars and consume Tyranids, originally a study specimen she grew a fondness for the creature and now uses him as a pet and protector, regularly entertaining spectators in the wych arena. On raids Skinrender is known to crawl into vents and air ducts of hive cities and bunkers harassing and terrifying the inhabitants until they are corralled straight into the dark twins clutches.
