| Hey guys, after a few months away from the game I see myself hooked back in once again and with some ideas that I've been wanting to float.
I had a small 3 game tournie last weekend and won my last game to stay off the bottom but wasn't ready both rule and army wise. Next few games lined up are Space Wolves, Necrons, Grey Knight/BA and Khorne just to get back into the flow.
Here's where I'm at for 1850:
CAD 1 Haemie, WWP 1 Lhamean in Venom 10 Grotesques (Haemie joins) 10 Warriors, Blaster in Raider, DL, SR 10 Warriors, Blaster in Raider, DL, SR 5 Scourge, 4 Haywire Blasters 5 Scourge, 4 Haywire Blasters 1 Ravager, 3 DLs 1 Ravager, 3 DLs 1 Ravager, 3 DLs Allied Detachment 1 Lhamean in Venom Warriors, Blaster in Raider, DL, SR 1 Ravager, 3 DLs 1815
No tricks here just straight shooting....Got a few points to add in somewhere but basically I've always felt like I need a 4th Ravager in games...maybe it's my meta or maybe poor dice...don't know but those Lhamean in Venoms are too cheap too not run IMO. The Grots give me a tough unit that threatens the entire board
Questions and comments always welcomed

| Couple thoughts. I have done the massive grot bomb before, and it is definitely a threat, however, it might not come on till turn 4. And if it starts on the table, you're slower then the rest of your entire army, and wasting the wwp. I recommenf a Grotesquier instead in Raiders. Run one with a suped up heamonculus, and the other with a Succubus and glaive. Run them down your opponents throat turn one and make him deal with them. Secondly, I recommend losing the blasters in your warrior squads. Your gunboats are designed to kill infrantry, not tanks. The blaster is a waste. I would also consider swaping one of yoir gunboats for 2 warrior squads in venoms if you can find the points. Those are the only things I would change, list looks good otherwise. I run 4 ravagers in my 1850 pt list too. My list actually looks similar to yours (with the suggested changes of course) except with blasterborn instead of scourges. Everyone has different opinions on both of these units, its all personal preference really. Hope this helps | |

| I would also drop the first lhamean in a venom (and just buy the venom as a fast attack) it's only 10 points for the lhamean, but it is a wasted 10 points.
you won't have the points to do the grotesqueirie and everything else. So you'd need to make some choices there. But either way you need a raider to carry them. your grots footslogging will get eaten up (when you blink in with your wwp you'll have one turn of them getting peppered before you can assault).

| Thanks for the responses guys. I've been playing Grotesquerie on and off for a few games and it's definitely a great formation but I'm feeling more of a shooty list at the moment. A few tweaks;
CAD 1 Lhamaean in Venom 5 Trueborn, 4 Blasters in Venom 5 Incubi, Klaivex in Venom (Warlord) 10 Warriors in Raider, Splinter Racks, Dark Lance 10 Warriors in Raider, Splinter Racks, Dark Lance 10 Warriors in Raider, Splinter Racks, Dark Lance 5 Scourge, 4 Haywire Blasters 5 Scourge, 4 Haywire Blasters 1 Ravager, 3 Dark Lances 1 Ravager, 3 Dark Lances 1 Ravager, 3 Disintegrator Cannons Allied Detachment 1 Lhamaean in Venom 10 Warriors in Raider, Splinter Racks, Dark Lance 1 Ravager, 3 Dark Lances 1850
So the Incubi and Disintegrator Ravager are there to handle any deepstrike or drop pod marines that land in my DZ early game whilst the rest of my army attacks armour (Ravagers, Scourge, Trueborn) and boosts forwards up the table (Gunboats and Venoms)

| I think that you should split the list into to two CAD detachment. As far as I know (maybe wrong), Allied detachment should be from a separate faction than your Primary CAD.
Also I would buy for the venoms the second splinter cannon if i could get the points. It adds a lot imho.
Other than that, I really like the list. Good luck on your next games.
you can check the following image for reference about the 7th ed battleforged armies. http://www.thediceabide.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/battleforged2.jpg

| Sorry, should have stated all Venoms have dual cannons. But also the events that I play in are comped. They allow only 1 CAD, then one other detachment that isn't large, hence the self allied detachment, and a third small detachment. Thanks for the link but "this ain't my first rodeo" | |

| Welcome back! Don't you have to have different factions to use allied detachment? I'd drop the kabalites Blasters (got heaps of anti armour already) and 1 grot and get a Raider for the grots. Also on board with dropping first lhamaean, but also split the 2Nd kabalites raider into 2 squads with a venom. My 2c, hope it's helpful | |

| Thanks nexs! Life gets in the way...stoopid life Thanks for the tips but the list in the OP has been superseded by a second incarnation a few post above. Self ally is allowed under community comp but please check that for me incase I'm getting it wrong | |

| The way I read the community comp pack is that you can have up to 3 detachments/formations. You can only have 1 large formation(in your case, it's the CAD), one can be any type(the ones not listed, including Allied Detachment), and the third MUST be a small formation (Inquisition, assassins, etc.). The 40k rule book states that your allied detachment must must be different faction to your primary detachment.
With that in mind, all you'd need to do is split your 2nd detachment kabalites into 2 units
